We have same problem. We have a paid version(40pc). Computers are in domain and users don't have local admin rights.
Every single day "Driver Updater" is poping up UAC, people just cancel that pop up, but that is annoying.
I tried to start programm as admin and under Driver Updater settings i unchecked all possible checkups (Notify me if any new driver update is available, Drivers below have new version) - still does not help.
I think problem is - local admin rights, in january there was problem with firewall which was unaccessible without local admin rights even if i started 360 Total security with "run as administrator". But that was fixed fast. Now it's driverupdater :)

I'm now using 360 Total Security Premium on my main computer, for the last two days. So far it's been extremely light and I'm seeing a very noticeable reduction in system impact versus previous versions, which I believe is due to the changes made in August.
While I don't really believe that cleaning and optimisation features, etc, should be included in an antivirus, at least these features actually work very well, which is not usually the case. The junk cleanup in 360 does a better job at cleaning junk from third party software, than the majority of cleaning software. The registry cleaner is safe to use, with no false positives - as long as you stick with the default settings. A big issue I often have with the registry cleaners included with security software, is that they don't show what registry entries they want to clean, so you can't tell if they want to delete any needed registry keys. But that's not that case here. Also, the driver updater is one of the better ones and works very well. It's an English language version of their Chinese driver update software that was first released in 2012. Personally, I would never want to let 360 disable every startup item or scheduled task it wants to, but it's quick and easy to add anything you want to keep to the ignore list.

My only real complaint is the lack of detail about some of the items it detects. For example, it detected a suspicious entry in my hosts file and showed the entry, but did not actually say where the address it had detected, actually was. After I let it quarantine it, I want to 360's quarantine and saw the hosts file listed there. Another example, is not showing details other than name, of scheduled tasks it wanted to disable to improve performance. There were a couple of tasks where the name of the scheduled task gave no indication of what the task was for.

I bought a Premium license, as they are cheap on eBay. It appears to be a genuine license as it gave me a full year subscription from the purchase date.

Is this program still good at detecting malware ,viruses or did it do its time and is now a mediocre av?

You can enable Bitdefender's signatures, though are a lot alternatives with them. But it is still a great AV, if you like ADs. :D

I started testing the registry cleaner when it was first added to 360 and have used it on a number of computers without seeing any false positives. The two days was just how long I had been using the Premium version, which includes the same registry cleaner as the free version.
