why not? People love it good enough for me to do my best.
Update frequency should increase in the following period, patience. As for not caring, why would they reply to every email if they didn't care? If enough people show interest, I believe IS will keep on running. We shall see....

Those numbers have nothing to do with the many issues Qihoo has. I never said IS detection was bad so read what I said again. I said it is a dead product and that both IS and TS have serious issues. Use IS for all I care or TS for that matter. I don't use Avast free on my PC because I have paid for licenses elsewhere, but I would install Avast in a heartbeat over TS if I was looking for a free product. And please don't tell me about Avast's recent downfall. We know exactly what happened there and it's been addressed. I would use Panda Cloud 3.0 before using IS or TS, and I hate Panda's GUI. Believe me, I am not a Qihoo hater. I used IS for almost a year and then tried TS until just a week or two ago. I was hanging on as a true believer but after listening to some of our other forum members opinions (cruelsister among them) and sizing up the situation for myself I came to the decision that my experiment with Qihoo was over. I spoke with Qihoo support several times and even once over the phone, and still I could not engage them to become active here in any meaningful way. The one thing that was crystal clear from one conversation I had with them was the future of IS. They were blunt. IS support would gradually be pulled over the coming 12 months. What more do you want? Again, this wasn't a product that was developed a few months ago. IS has been around since at least late 2009 in China. Do you think just because we saw only the last year of product development, they should continue?

GakunGak just because you get an occasional reply from Qihoo does not mean they are continuing development. Where in the world did you come up with that idea? You can continue to delude yourself but you are wasting your time. I don't know who told you this product will continued to be developed, but if indeed someone actually did, they were wrong. Qihoo had a golden opportunity here and they blew it. The IS thread has been one of the most active here in recent memory. Week in, week out it has stay near the top in activity. I believe another company would have used that to their advantage, but Qihoo just seemed to ignore it, while at the same time telling members like GakunGak and myself (among many) that they looked forward to starting a dialogue with users here. You believe IS will keep on running. You're right, until the day comes when you uninstall it. I wish you luck.

    Dear stephentony,
While I do not agree with your statements, I respect them because it is your opinion/experience. My opinion/experience differ. They might seem delusional to you, and a few more people. But, let's assume it is true and that support will be pulled over 12 months from now. Until that happens, if it happens, I will do my best to try to get them onboard not to abandon this product. Fine, I am stupid for trying, thanks for the constructive input and not actually trying to give advice how to best approach this.
Now, what I will also do is setup VM's specifically for IS [I am a TS user BTW], on my home PC and WORK, so when someone has specific issue, I will provide Q360 the means to gather as much info as possible to resolve any issue. To do that, I will replicate as much identical conditions as possible having background programs/processes/services running as the user having the issue.
As for the communication goes, until they start posting here, which should be "soon", I will "bridge" that communication by posting emails I have with them. They registered their user account here, which means there is willingness to start posting here, just need patience. Why would they do that if they are not willing at all?
As for the "dead" product, I found no "official" english source on their Facebook OR website, stating it will get pulled. Not even a hint. So, sorry for not exactly jumping to your statement, no disrespect intended.
As for an occasional reply, I got every single reply I sent them, that is 100% reply rate. Every single time they were helpful, and polite.

Now, I kindly ask, if you truly want to help out, do help. Write here what to ask them, critics, suggestions, whatever. That goes for everyone.
Tastes differ and what I like might not work with someone else. Let's find a common solution if there's a problem, or a feature request.

If you truly believe this to be dead, then respectfully, You are quite passionate over something so dead. :)
Me, I am passionate over this, not because I use it because I don't, because of others who do. And as long as there is at least 1, that is one, person, who is an user, I will treat it with same respect and determination as with if it were 400 million.

As for using IS or TS, I personally recommend TS to people, and not single one of them had ANY issues. In fact, their OLD and NEW pc performance skyrocketed, pc's get to stable conditions, have awesome PC protection and people are happy with it. And for free. And people appreciate it when their PC get's up and running after 45 seconds vs almost 4 minutes before. Why, you ask? Well, first of, it is quiet, does not ask anything. Second, no ads or popups. Free products pop up deals and discount prices to get protected, or free licence quits after a year and boom, no protection. Some people do not know how to renew. And so, disaster looms ahead. With Q360, no worries. For those having optimizations already [Tune Up Utilities, Advanced System Care, etc], having IS is good enough. So, while you have bad experience wiith Qihoo, me, on the other hand, and over 110 PC's I manage, are quite happy with it and want to continue developement on all products. So, even for a dead product, i will provide bugs and feature suggestions.

Sunday looms ahead, I kindly ask people to provide me with insight as to what to ask Qihoo on your behalf, thank you.

    Hi GakunGak,

I am really sorry for all your effort to keep 360IS alive, but is a doomed product.

360IS is not the main product of 360.cn; it has been used for advertising and, I believe, to collect certain statistical data from users.
The company has a replacement now for 360IS and this is going to be replaced either you like it or not.
Remember Kerio 2.15? What about Threatfire? What about Mamutu? What about PC Tools Firewall Plus (I am still using it on win 7, 64)? All dead even though some were paid products and there was a HUGE demand to keep them alive....

GakunGak, I really would help you with this project if I felt Qihoo support truly was on board not just for a day but on a regular basis. I'm was passionate about the product, and now I'm highly disappointed. Like a bad relationship that started great! ;). I agree 100% with questions assessment and I think it's a kind one at that. Again, good luck!

Ok, to put this issue at ease, and not risk thread locking, I shall ask this weekend, specifically for IS, if it is ever going to be discontinued in the near future.
Whatever reply I got, I will copy-paste it here.
    Would that be acceptable?

I think you are close GakunGak. Now of course definitions will be available for a long time, you would hope. If you ask them about further development, and whether that door has been closed, yes I think it would be a fair question on your part with no fence to ride for Qihoo support. Of course it's up to you as to how you want to approach it. I know you are working hard to make something happen here with the idea that if they see how much support there is for IS, they will continue development. As I said in another post, I think you have done an admiral job so if nothing else you should believe that.

Again to the Trojan/Phishing database updating in 360 Internet Security. I picked up some dates from this thead and my PC, these are as follows:

2013-06-14 Trojan websites in database 667,181 -- Phishing websites in database 2,370,781

2013-07-24 Trojan websites in database 667,181 -- Phishing websites in database 2,370,781

2014-04-01 Trojan websites in database 910,833 -- Phishing websites in database 2,932,451

2014-06-30 Trojan websites in database 910,833 -- Phishing websites in database 2,932,451

2014-07-04 Trojan websites in database 910,833 -- Phishing websites in database 2,932,451

Now it looks like that I'm gonna switch back to F-secure IS 2014, which I got free from my internet operator.

@Firefighter It is related to server cache issue. I have reported this to Qihoo and they are aware of it. Can you spend one more day to see if this will change on your end? Thank you.

EDIT: Please download and install http://int.down.360safe.com/360is/360is_4.9.0.4900U.exe and report by the end of the day if it updates or not, thanks.

Well currently I am using Qihoo and planning a switch to Kaspersky (I have a working license)...

    I have a one question..
Is Qihoo Sandbox as effective as Sandboxie or Comodo Sandbox in Full Virtualized mode?

Well Qihoo also needs to modify the update trigger as I have a dial-up connection and Qihoo won't update when there is an internet connection but on start up of Windows and some specific time leaving DB outdated.. I've used Comodo and its always updated coz I can change the update to hourly basis, here I couldn't find such option.. Is there any?

Btw what are the fixes/improvements in the new installer?

1: It is assumed to be as capable, tho no one really tested it. I could do it for you if you want, just specify with or without internet connection allowed for sandboxed programs.
2: No, automatic and at specified time are available to you at this time. As Bitdefender is not that updatable, automatic is still an OK choice.
3: No improvements, possible small bugfixes people report, most are just virus database refresh. Major stuff get's posted on their www changelog.

I haven't followed this thread for a while.
What happened to 360 IS? I saw it's still listed as a PC product on their website.
And what about 360TS? Why people doesn't seem to like it?
    Thanks.

    TLDR version:
1: IS is in the state of developement screech, due to Qihoo focusing on TS and browser. It is being worked on convincing Qihoo to continue developement for IS.
2: People don't like Facebook integration, cleaning, speeding, no firewall, not having Avira/Bitdefender engines enabled by default, certain programs stop working after using TS for a while, windows/criticals patching, no themes, Windows Action center reporting 360 turned off, 2 updates/day for Av/BD sigs, whatever.
Above mentioned issues/bugs are being reported and worked on resolving. July will see major TS release, either as a huge bugfix or bugfix/new features version.
