    Hi:

It seems 360IS sandboxing of browser blocks online videos of playing or streaming. I tried youtube and a few other online video sites and nothing plays. So qihoo should look into this and make the 360IS sandbox compatible with online video watching.

I have been using this for a few days .

I installed it after a bad experience with bitdefender I.S (causing computer freeze ) licence purchase wasted but I digress.

I have used many security products in the past and they all have their pros and cons .(Avast, Comodo, etc.etc.)

Just curious to know how other users who have installed this and been using it longer than I have are finding it.

I find it very light on the system and I have read the worries concerning the product but I think I may well give it a fair crack of the whip and leave it installed for a bit longer, what say the wise sages of Wilders.

SO anyone knows 360IS short comming in protection in 64bit windows compare to the protection it offers for 32bit?

Is the the same full protection available for the 64bit windows 7 as is with the 32bit win 7?

    I am.

    Protection appears normal as always.

I haven't had time to really hammer the metal with local tests like I normally do but so far so good. Nothing is changed except in the update I have a 360Sandbox to play in now. :D

Yes, I'm still using it, and will continue to do so for the time being.

I really like 360 because it is extremely light almost all the time. This is the most important feature for me in any security software I use.

There are occasional times when the CPU use goes up to around 25%. This is something I really don't like as it makes my laptop slow down. But for now I am happy to put up with this as it only happens occasionally. Maybe if I had a newer laptop, the faster CPU in it would mean a lack of slow downs, but I have absolutely no desire to upgrade for at least a few years.

Also like the apparent good detection rates. It very rare for me to encounter malicious content because I am careful about what I do online (despite from time to time visiting "unsafe" websites), so I can't comment personally on the detection rates, but it seems that other posters here are happy with it and it has done well in testing.

    Still using it on vm's.

Keylogger protection works on 64 bits as far as I can see.

Tried for instance the Zemana test key_sim and sure enough 360 IS blocked it !!

Antitest keylogger test was also blocked by the proactive defense !

I ran it with real time protection disabled. Only proactive defense.

Tried other tests, from google search: Raxco, AKLT and alike.

All were blocked. Detected with keystrokes alert.

My vm's where I'm testing 360 IS are running on Win 7 home 32, 64 and pro 64.

(Does it good too with virus scanning samples from malware tips)

I've been using 360 IS for over a week on my laptop (Windows 8 x64) and I'm very impressed with its functionality, GUI, etc.

Hit the jackpot earlier this week when I was kindly introduced to 360IS. Also in the 'recommendation' was Comodo's FW. Another eye-opener for me as I abandoned it years ago never to return until now. Needless to say this combo seems excellent. A very happy AaLF.

Both carry in their arsenal a Sandbox. I use the FW's Sandbox for internet browsing. Comodo also offers a right click option to use their SB for running programs and so on.

Question: Does the Q360 offer anything extra or different or do I just use Comodo's SB for all & sundry?

If you are offline, Qihoo will use its sandbox when launching unknown files from external drive, and it can prohibit internet access in the sandbox. On the other hand you have the firewall :)

Looks like Qihoo 360 has been losing its steam after implementing the sandbox.

  24. Could some Qihoo user do a test?

    1. Deny Qihoo access to internet with firewall

    2. Check Qihoo status and try to update Qihoo to confirm that it is blocked from internet

    3. Check whether sandbox kicks in for USB and binary started from other sources (e.g. downloaded from the internet)

    Thanks

    Qihoo enabled, Network disabled:

1). Connect USB containing known malware- Qihoo detects the samples.
2). Run malware samples from local folder- Qihoo detects and deals with samples.
3). Download samples from internet not applicable since Qihoo can't get out due to internet being down.
