I'm trying to setup True Image 2009 to maintain three complete backups (Weekly - Sunday) and two incremental (Tuesday and Thursday). So what I'm looking for is every Sunday for the system to do a complete backup and on Tuesday and Thursday for it to do incremental. On the next Sunday, I want it to complete another full backup followed by two incrementals during the week. Once the complete backups have reached three, I want it to overlay the oldest, etc. I setup a Complete Backup and an Incremental Backup in the scheduler. This issues I'm having is once the Complete Backup runs once it changes it type back to an incremental. Second issue is how do I tell the Incremental what backup set to use when it hasn't been created (i.e.: each week a new complete backup set will be created). I'm currently using Norton Save / Restore and feel that True Image will give me a lot more flexibility; I just can't seem to master setting it up. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Have you tried multiple tasks? ONe for the fulls and one for the incs?

Yes, I setup two tasks. One to complete a full backup every Sunday and a second task to do an incremental on Tuesday and Thursday. The problem is that after the Full Backup finishes it appears that TI resets the flag from Full to Incremental. So the next time it runs, it's an incremental and not a full backup. I'm also uncertain how to setup the incremental. It wants to know the name of the save archive that it's going to append to. Well if I create a new full backup weekly, the name will be changing. As long as I go in every week and change the Full Backup type from an incremental to a full and I change the Incremental Backup to use the new name associated with the full backup everything will work fine. I was just trying to find a way that this could be a complete lights out solution.

    Hello DLE and everyone interested,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please be aware that currently in Acronis True Image Home 2009 there is no way to set up a schedule that would automatically recreate the full backup regularly. However, since currently such option is one of the most popular requests, it's being looked into the possibility to implement it into the current design.

    Thank you.
