    Scary, isn't it?

The consequences spiral out and out and have an eventual impact on everyone.

I myself have been bitten in the posterior. My wife, who teaches at a university, got us tarpitted with my home ISP by sending out anouncements to her classes from home. Since I am the home tech support person, it was my fault. :gack: Fix it now!!!!!!

I had to climb my ISP's tech support totem pole to a senior administrator level before I could convince anyone that my computers were not possessed by demon SPAM bots.

My home ISP, a very good and very responsible small ISP (by the way), is forced to be pro-active. It is exasperating sometimes to live under the measures they must impose, but the consolation is that things would get much worse without such measures.
