Another anti-spyware scanner in the row.
Original idea : re-inventing the wheel.
That remark makes me feel safer

Oh goody - now everyone can get confused between Microsoft Anti-Spyware (Beta) and McAfee Anti-Spyware (Beta)...

Choice is good. The more entries in the field, the more each developer is spurred to raise their game. Product X has to try to show why their better than product Y and Z. This is where innovation comes from.

The main question is how good it is by comparison to more establish ones.

I have not seen this new one yet but if it is anything like their old antispyware I wouldn't run it if they gave it to me for free.

Their old version was utterly worthless and detected almost nothing. I sure hope this is an entirely new engine and program altogether or it will be a dud I am sure.

I use their old one because they gave it to me and your damn right, it was not very good and was finding a few false/positives... that never got resolved after one yearo_O And even worst, they were not resolving the false/positives and after almost one year the same false/positives from the beginning of the year were there with some new false/positiveso_O?

Their technical support is also almost inexistant and incompetent....

No thank's, all pass on this one...

I am useing mcafee 8.0i with the antispyware plugin and it seems to work pretty well. But I couldn't say for the home version.

8.0i with spyware module works fine here but this stand alone enterprise version looks interesting.
and of course my grant does not cover it when released

this is for a standalone for enterprises, previously it was an addon to VSE. im not sure if its anything i would need and they already have a antispyware for consumers as well.
