Since there is no "official" way to boot my Acer TravelMate 8103 with an Acronis TI full version boot CD, I use a BartPE CD with TI #791 plug-in (see my thread "TI bootable media unable to detect DVD").

I would appriciate very much if a plug-in

    - TrueImage #903 would be made available, and even more important
    - a plug-in for DiscDirectorySuite, since the boot problem there is the same.

    Thanks, Artemisa

    Hello Artemisa,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are really sorry for the problem with Acer laptops, we are still investigating it.

Could you please describe what problem you encounter using Acronis True Image plug-in for BartPE?

As for similar plug-in for Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0, we are not planning to create it because all the actions can be performed under Windows. Even when Acronis Disk Director Suite pops up a message that you need to reboot to complete the operation because the partitions are in use by other applications and you reboot the computer it boots into Windows native mode and all the operations are performed there.

    Thank you.

At least no problems that I am aware of. I only try to follow your suggestions, always to use the latests builds.

    Hello Artemisa,

Now I get what you mean. Since the plug-in itself is quite stable we do not plan to change it at the moment. However, if you get any issues using it please let us know. We will certainly investigate and try to fix it.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ilya,

This doesn't help those who have trouble booting to your CD and who want to partition an empty HD. They have no OS to run Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0.

    Hello Brian K,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

Your idea seems quite reasonable. However, the partitioning of the empty disk is not the most important problem and you can perform the partitioning even with Windows Installation CD (when you install Windows) because there is no risk of data loss (empty disk contains no data). However, we will consider the idea of Acronis Disk Director Suite plug-in for BartPE creation.

    Thank you.

    Ilya,

Your product is FAR superior to the Microsoft partitioning software. Don't make people use that if they can't boot to your Disk Director Suite CD. Release a BartPE plugin.

If one can't boot to your CD then one can't use the Partition Recovery software either. Another excellent product by the way. Microsoft don't have a tool to recover partitions. Release a BartPE plugin.

    Hello Brian K,

I do understand the importance of the plug-in now. I have submitted this feature to our Enhancement List and we will consider it. I think we will be able to develop the plug-in in future.

    Thank you.
