You can use this web site , for fast sending and shortening the time :

    http://www.malwareupload.com

" We offer internet-users the possibility to upload suspicious and infected files for analysis.
The uploader has got the possibility to have a look at his uploaded files, upload further files and see the status of the analysing.
Of course the results are also send by email.

All clearly infected files are at present send to over 40 it-security firms worldwide.

This free service is available in english and german at the moment."

    Regards,

Yea, but it seems that you have to sign up. You can just use Jotti Online Malware Scanner also for free without signing up.

Let's call them "modern virus collectors". You can not rely on the response you get from them as they rely on what scanners say. Example: if you upload a virus/malware that is not detected by any scanner they will reply that (upon their "analysis") the file is clean; if you upload a false alarm or an absolutly damaged sample that is detected by KAV or most other AV they will just reply that the file is e.g. infected by Backdoor.Win32.Rbot.gen or something like that (they just give you the output of 1 scanner that did detect something). And for this kind of "analysis" they need usually more than one hour. The examples given were above were tested by me and reported on the forum of rokop-security (http://www.rokop-security.de/index.php?showtopic=7797 [german]) where I asked the guys of malwareupload to explain me why they did not saw that the file was clearly infected and the other non-working if they really did analyze them; they never replied about that and tried to direct the discussion in other directions (off-topic). And as they said themself on another forum, their idea with that site is to collect malware, as they find it difficult to get some malware (he also tried other "tricks", but did not work :p; some people/companies will probably remember what I mean ;)).
It is better to use the Jotti site, he is trustworthy and his service is good.
I would also not put to much trust in virustotal.

Any special reason for not putting 'too much trust' on VirusTotal service?

    If I understand: newvirus@kaspersky.com

You can send the file without stress. Only zip and send.
