I just updated to v 2.5, and decided to test scan an Eicar test file using the previously installed Advanced Shell EXtension. It scanned OK, but I also got a mysterious error message about the Kernel service not running (see screen shot)

After that I noticed that Nod32 wasn't even listed among the Threat Protection Modules (see screen shot in the follow up post).

I shut down Amon, reinstalled Nod32, and rebooted once again: same thing.... :doubt:

So what else could I try?

I looked at my services, but as far as I could see the Nod32 Kernel Service was set to automatic and it was running as well.

Both Nod32kui.exe and Nod32krn.exe were among my running processes too.

OK , I just did what I should have tried before posting: I uninstalled Nod32 and did a fresh install: all is well now! :D

Still wondering why it wouldn't update tho...

    Sorry about the hoopla....

There are one or two other reports about this problem on Wilders.

Shows again that the best way to install an update is the old and tested method of uninstall, reboot, reinstall :D

I guess so... it's just that I hadn't seen any of those other reports you mentioned, or I would have done so right away...
