    it's the NOD program update
    to give you version 2.12.2 and update other internal components of NOD including a brand new heuristics component etc.

    I've installed it and suggest that you should also. Any antivirus is only as good as when it's updated to both the latest version and with virus definitions. I assume part of the updates is something to prevent the latest versions of the viruses/worms that are spreading being able to disable the antivirus protection without your knowledge.

    Obviously you have your nod set to ask for install & not auto update or install program updates

    Hi Derek,

    It's not completely clear to me what you mean by this:
    including a brand new heuristics component

    My NOD32 says about the heuristic component:

    Advanced heuristics module version: 1.010 (20040902)
    Advanced heuristics module build: 1061

    =====

    This shows exactly why I started long ago a thread giving info about all the components and support parts.
    Info on components and support parts
    It has always been my suggestion and wish that that thread would have been made sticky and read-only, and that the Eset-mods would maintain it (meaning that they would update that info when one or more of the components/support-parts has been updated).
    It is completely unclear to me why this has NOT been done.
    It really takes very little time to maintain such a thread, and in my humble opinion it would be a great service from Eset towards its customers.
    I'd better not say what I really think, so let's put it this way: I feel frustrated about it....
    You will not see me posting anymore in that thread.

    Regards, Jan.
