im back again with another virus

    first i would like to thank you all who helped me last time get rid of my other trojan. Now i have a new one. Its a Backdoor.Coreflood. It's really lagging my comp and ive tried fallowing the steps to the symatec thing and it doesn't work. I need as much help as possible. It's infected a .dll file in my windows system32. The file is iprtrrgr.dll. Im using windows xp. i have no idea how i got it please help.

    First of all if your still running Windows, that's life running Microsoft. Maybe it's about time you switch to Linux so you don't get trojans. Like the rest of us guys that figure that out a few years ago. If you really want to clean out your system of a trojan and any other spyware or viruses, which I sure you have plenty of them, save yourself alot of time & trouble and format your hard drive and start all over - clean. If you didn't backup for data prior to this trojan, to bad. Kiss your information goodbye. As for the techie guys and girls would probably agree.

    Download the freeware Ewido program for a start and see if it helps.

    No it is not - not my experience. That''s life using IE at default settings - probably. I use Firefox.

    dear bulldawg, there are several variants. which antivirus gave you this warning? try to use your HDD as slave and run a good AV from the master drive. make sure the master drive is clean. you can also boot from a rescue disk and scan your computer.

    i got to thinking and it made me wonder if nortan has made a mistake because no other program i run for virus [some specificaly for trojans ] dont even pick up that there is a virus in that specifici file. So could nortan have screwed up?

    dear bulldawg, Norton is not exactly famous for false positives. why don't you submit that file for analysis?
