If I have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed, do I need a second antivirus program installed as well? Or can I just use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to scan all new files that I download?

Well the Malwarebytes people consider their program a Av supplement and not a replacement if I understand them correctly.

It's an Antispyware, a little bit more but not Antivirus. Hence, you need an Antivirus, you can Google free Antiviruses like AVAST, COMODO, AVG, AVIRA or you can buy their paid version or the well known but expensive NORTON. You also have KASPERSKY which is very good but you have to pay annual subscribtion. Often, the security suite like COMODO or OUTPOST FREE give you the FIREWALL and the ANTIVIRUS all in one or you can choose in COMODO to install both or only the firewall. Make your choice.

I thought a VIRUS was an MALWARE, hence Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is a VIRUS detector. No?

So having Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is NOT enough, I also need something like Avast, Avira, Norton, Kaspersky etc?

What can Avast, Avira, Norton, Kaspersky etc detect that Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware misses and fails to detect?

I used MB to scan several positive viruses which Avira had confirmed, and it said they were clean.

So I guess it's only an AV supplement.

But they are all so resource and RAM hungry and slow down my PC especially when playing online games.

What's a good AV I can use that doesn't run constantly in ram?

Malwarebytes free version is quite good. I've heard the paid is even better and offers real-time protection, like an AV. One thing I noticed was MBAM didn't seem very good at removing "tracking cookies", they aren't dangerous but I don't like having companies tracking me. SUPERAntispyware free does a nice job of cleaning those up. There's also Flash Cookies and I use the 2nd one below and it usually finds and deletes 100-200 at a time and only takes 5-10 seconds. The 2nd one is portable and doesn't install.
