    Hi,

I noticed today on my system an huge increase of the scantime after the update of Archive support module version 1080.

System : XP home SP3, Dutch.
    NOD32 version 2.70.39, English.

Usually I do a full scan at least once a day, mostly more than that.

Today I noticed that the scantime was increased from about 27 minutes to 72 minutes.
I couldn't believe what happened, so I just did run a full scan again: again about 72 minutes.

I think that in particular the scanning of installation files is taken much more time, and the .bin files inside of them.

    What is happening here ?

    Hi proactivelover,

Sorry, maybe my fault, but I don't understand your reply.
What exactly do you mean, and how is it an answer to my question?

The latest archive module added support for a new kind of installers so with archives enabled a scan will take more time, depending on how many such installers are scanned.

Thank you Marcos for explaining it !

I took a closer look at the scanner-logs, one recently with the new archive module and another older one before the new archive module.

    A few examples:

I see with the new archive module warnings on older install files for SiSoft Sandra, for example:
    D:\SiSoft Sandra\Version XI SP4 1-July-2007\sanproXI.SP4-1142-JOK.exe »INNO - unsupported option
With the previous archive module I didn't get that warning.
I have now deleted those older install files (no use for them anymore).

Install file for Outpost Pro Version 6_5_2358_316_0607:
    D:\Outpost Pro\Version 6_5_2358_316_0607\OutpostProInstall.exe »INNO »setup.data - error - unknown compression method

Install file for older version of The Cleaner:
    D:\The Cleaner\Version 4_2 build 4319\cleaner42.exe »INNO »file0002.bin »ZIP »cleaner4.dbt - error - password-protected file

Woohoo, I'm back at my usual scantime of about 27 minutes :D

I guess that the reason is the newer archive module 1081 (20090205)

    Thanks ESET !
