    hello
i have a similar problem with divX web player
Everytime i run the scan it freezes at npdivx32.dll
eats about 1,6gb of my free space creating files in /temp folder
slows my computer greatly, so i have to restart
after restart it doesnt automatically delete these temp files.
    current version 2787
    is that another bug

Re: Scan Freezing on Chrome Manifest File

There does seem to be some kind of problem with DivX related files. I've just copied/pasted DixvInstaller.exe from my download folder to my desktop, and NOD's choking on it. The 'Copying 1 item' Explorer dialogue box had been sitting there for 5 minutes now, with '0 seconds remaining'.

Can you isolate the file that is freezing the scanner?

NOD having problems with DivX installer

I have no problems copying this file from 'A' to 'B' when real-time protection's disabled, but when it's enabled NOD chokes on it. There seems to be some kind of memory issue going on; gradual reduction in system speed, ending in a complete freeze, and lots of hard-drive churning as if virtual memory's being used up.

Rather than email a 16MB file to ESET, I've uploaded it here for anyone wishing to check it out: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pyidcr

I have got the same problem!!! And I'm already opened a topic for that, and I think the problem is not in the definition file update rather than the Compressed/Archive module!!! divxinstaller.exe is an compressed exe file. The problem happens when nod32 trying to check these compressed files... Plz, plz correct the error.

    Hi there !

I was in the middle of watching a movie with the divx webplayer when suddenly update 2786 popped up.

My harddrive went crazy and I also noticed that on my C partition about 3 gig of free space was gone. I found one nod**.temp (size 885 MB) and another... (1,69 GB)

After uninstalling the divx webplayer Nod32 v2.7 deepscan froze again when it hit the system restore ... and repeated the previous action... so I had to delete all system restore points.

Now I'm working with the old version of Divx webplayer (glad I saved that install), turned system restore back on and everything's ok.
... just have to be very careful not to update it cause the new version (update) of Divx Webplayer is presented to me all the time after watching a movie.

I NEVER experienced any problems with Nod before ; will there be an update to fix this ?

    Ciao !

Yes. When? No-one knows. (Probably on Monday, once the ESET crew have sobered up from the weekend's drinking extravaganza)

    ...sure hope so ...

It's definitely the update and not the engine ... worked fine before..

Let's wait and hope that hangover doesn't delay the update hahaha !

(I'm new to this forum ) ... do you have any idea how we can be sure a fix is ready?
It's really not my hobby to delete system restore points all the time ...:cautious:
