So Arovax Smarthide has been in beta for a while, it is shareware with a free limited/trial version (Paid is only 10$).

Can't they steal anything from me anymore, not even my email-address ?

Hmm..I am trying to download a trial of it but I must register first, but the problem is that I have to have some sort of code "Payment code" or "Invitation code" whats that all about? Do you have a direct link to the .exe?

It is hard to get so everyone wants it. Apparently it is better than any other anonymization service out there because you are invisible to where your ip can't be recorded.

 

It's not hard to get, you register on the Arovax forums and PM Arovax for an invitation code... Wait a few hours or days... Get it... And use it. /shrug

 

I was beta testing it for soooooooooo long i simply gave up and stoped. I thought Arovax went bonkers since no one replied or released new beta back then. Ah well.

I am curious about memory consumption of this application. Any users lurking around here and willing to share their experiences?

 

I've been told from quite a few people it slows their connection tons less than other software that makes you "Anonymous" while surfing the internet. I don't notice a slowdown, but for downloading and uploading it may become more apparent. Not sure, haven't tried yet.

Unlike Smarthide, Securemaker is free and comes with many useful features such as Spam and Ad blocking.

I dont want to promote this program, but merely ask whether the privacy securer works and why so few people seem to know about it?

 

Well I PM'd him 6-6-07 and still have not received a reply. I was very interested in this product but I as some others have said I thought they went MIA.

Well your browser should be the one worrying about Ad blocking, Spam can be covered by most IS suites or just by whatever program/service your using for mail. Smarthide is still a work in progress and is adding new servers and so with purchases hopefully they can continue getting them all around the world for the least amount of slowdown possible.

I don't have a clue about the functionality of that program, but Smarthide works with MSN, P2P and many other things that other software doesn't quite cover fully.

 

Sorry but if no one got back to me the first time for 4 months I'm not wasting another minute. Thanks but no thanks.

According to my calculations, you only wasted a minute. I highly doubt you checked your email every day for 4 months waiting for the code and nothing else. The fact it could have been an error in their forums makes it even more laughable.

Ah well, thanks for that minute of your time. I'm sure it hurt.

 

As I said in my original post I'm not wasting another minute. I did not say I wasted 4 months. It could have been an error in their forums true. But to me that is one reason that users should not have to sign up for a beta test using PM's only. Just my opinion though. No hard feelings to you or them.
