    Hello guys,
I love spyblaster. Have been using it several years. Two days ago a strange phenomenon occurred: everytime I open the spyblaster window, MSoffice 2003 (which is already installed on my pc with MSO cache folder) begins to install. I have to click "cancel" several times to make it stop.

THEN, when I click to update online, TurboTax launches and tries to get online! I click repeatedly to "cancel".

-running most recent version of SB/most recent defs
-running Windows 2000 Profession build 5.0
    -running MS office 2003
    -running ZA firewall
    -running Adaware
    -running IE6
    -Sony Viao laptop
    -PII,256 RAM
    -dialup connection

What the heck is going on?! Any help apppreciated.

Thanks ronjor, very good resource links. Just two other things:

    - Control Panel is incorrectly stating that "no software is installed on this system." I can't uninstall anything through CP add/remove.

    - I just ran Adaware and found 8 "Alexa" critical objects in my registery (which I deleted thru adaware).

So something is hosed on my pc. I'll try advice in ms support link. Thanks very much.

The ms installer-fix utility worked to break the link to Spywareblaster. Opening SB no longer makes MSO or Turbo tax start installing.

My remaining problem is with the Control Panel not recognizing any programs on my computer. If you have any quick thoughts, it would be helpful, otherwise I'll go to ms support area and look around.

    Thanks again. :thumb:
