I know, we've done this before, but possibly not exactly like this. So please play along. Let's suppose you have NOD32 installed and your favorite firewall whatever that may be. Let's also suppose that for whatever reason, you can only install one more security program. This program will need to protect you from spyware, trojans, rootkits, or whatever may get past NOD + Firewall.

So if you could just install one other program, what would it be and why?

I can cheat a little by adding one program (suite) like KIS 6 or BD 9. Some people like to play with computer games, some prefer tweaking security programs despite they never find any real threats on their systems, some opt for formatting their hard-disk every few months, etc. However, as the saying goes each person has her own idea of "sufficient" security on her computer.

Lu_chin I'm going to throw in a Sandbox type program such as Defence Wall. Which I just purchased a couple of days ago. I would rather keep them off rather than try to get them off.

id add ewido anti-malware just as backup. i dont know how well it can protect again rootkits but the chances of my computer getting infected are slim enough.

    For active protection:

    NOD32 + CHX + AppDefend

I will have to agree there. Maybe swap AppDefend with Antihook, PG, or OA depending on my mood ;)

    ShadowUser Pro 2.5.

Why? Because after every session with ShadowUser, whatever malware might have gone past NOD32 and your firewall will be flushed out with a simple reboot.

This is actually the backbone of my security: NOD32 + LooknStop + ShadowUser. I scan my computer with different scanners on a monthly basis and eversince I had ShadowUser (10 months) I don't even get tracking cookies on my drive...
