Can anyone answer or guess that manny users will be really confuised on the test that will show on May, because of all this new AV,s their good heuristic detection like AntiVir, GData, Vba32 and all others, so i think people will be real surprised this time in av-comparatives test or am i wrong please anyone correct me?

    Best Regards

Wait and see my friends. Of course we can speculate about results, but what's the point? Just have some paitience.

As for the top products, you'll see the following products in top 4:
    1) NOD32
    2) GData AntiVirenKit
    3) BitDefender
    4) Kaspersky / F-Secure

Dont be so sure about that ok Sputnik?!

I mean DrWeb has improved and upgraded the heuristic detection, so has sophos, and bitdefender has finished 2 years with hive in january, and also vba32 has again upgraded and improved their heuristic.
and antivir has really worked along time now and together with avira so they have a very good heuristic detection also
    so i think
    1)vba32
    2)antivir
    3)nod32
    4)bitdefender
    5)drweb
    6)gdata
    7)kaspersky / f-secure
but you never know :) drweb and vba32 and antivir is detecting so many without adding signatures but also so many FP's.
but i am not sure about mcafee but i belive they also has really improved the heuristic detection.

Exactly. It'll be what it'll be...why lose sleep over it?

    @Ardian
I'm sorry to say this, but you really take your list serious?

    # Let's take GData's AntiVirenKit, they'll always score higher then BitDefener, since they include BitDefender's HIVE + Kapsersky's Generic Detection + Outbreakshield.

    # Where's McAfee in your list?

    # VBA32 and AntiVir outpreform NOD32 already? I don't think so.

Understand me right, I don't want to speculate or start a flamewar. But I just want to let you know that you should have more realistic expectations. Know where you are talking about. Of course products can improve and climb up some places, but don't expect them to rise as this.
Also since you claim BitDefender scoring higher then AntiVirenKit makes me doubt about your list. But ok, who's me...

H+BEDV (AntiVir) and Avira were never seperate companies, they always used the same scan engine (developed by H+BEDV) and signatures.

I am looking forward for the results, I put some serious time into the heuristics after all.

Yup, i'm also interested about AntiVir heuristics. From what i've seen on Jotti it detected everything with heuristics along with NOD32 and BitDefender (all 3 detected same files with heuristics). So they certanly are heavily upgraded.

Do not forgett drweb with their DLOADER and Avast with their Win:p32rox
and Panda with their Panda-(TruPrevent) also very good Heuristic detections.
I also seen on Jotti but i belive this time its between nod32 and bitdefender, because bitdefender has ended the job with their heuristic on january 2006 they have finished the Heuristic and now they are working to improve the HiVE, but nod32 has also really improved and upgraded these last month the Threatsense, so let's see.
and after these 2 AV's comes the rest of AV's my opinion, but heey who's me.
Norman and Vba32 also Gdata and f-secure i am not sure i can trust these on Heuristic detection to 100%, but all these AV's are good.

TruPrevent doesn't work in On-Demand (AV-Comparatives test it this way).
It's basically the same as Kaspersky Proactive defense which also doesn't work in On-Demand mode...

    1. - NOD32 with AH
    2. - DrWeb 4.33.2
    3. - BitDefender
    4. - Vba32 -------------------- Advanced +
    ------------------------------------------
    5. - McAfee
    6. - Kaspersky
    7. - AntiVir 7
    8. - Norman VC ---------------- Advanced

Here is my guess, if the majority of samples are something else than variants.

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

PS. TrustPort AV WS, Gdata AVK and F-secure not included, because of their main engines are already within in this retrospective list.

I am quite sure that the guess of FF is wrong, but I will not tell now why ;) :p Well, we will see in ~2 months.

    That's why it's only a guess. :D

    Remember my assumption too!

If I remember right, at least DrWeb isn't so good against variants as some other good heuristics av:s.

    Best regards,
    Firefighter!

your guess is better, also because you did not use the levels... ;) But I am just guessing too, I have no idea because the sets are not even ready until next month.

the test will start the ~6th May, and the results be available for the public the 1st June.

NOD32 and BitDefender will certanly be among the best. AntiVir might follow them closely. Don't know about KAV. Proactive Defense won't help it much in these tests even if they test version 6.
