    Hi everybody,

I have problem with scanning. When I run on-demand scanner, I got hundreds of errors, mostly of them are - "error opening file locked 4" or "error password protected file".
Is this mean that scanner cannot check these files and they could be some kind of threat?

On my old PC I have few errors but not hundreds, so I dont know what's happening now? Is this a problem? o_O

    Thanks

Actually, this is fairly normal. Many of the system files are locked, and therefore cannot be scanned. This also prevents them from being accessed or infected via malware, BTW. If you look at the files listed as "password protected," you may find that many if them are encrypted "quarantine" type files, usually from something like Spybot.

    Ok, thanks a lot.

And yes, I've noticed that many of them are files from anti-spyware but there were some archives too (or something like that), and that was reason cause I was so worried about. :)

Finally, I'm confused about fact that there weren't so many errors on my old PC and I had similar applications installedo_O

Can you give some specific examples? Ignore the following folders and files, as they are Windows system files:

    C:\hiberfil.sys
    C:\pagefil.sys
    C:\Windows\system32\config\...
    C:\Documents and Settings\...\Ntuser.dat
    C:\Documents and Settings\...\Ntuser.dat.log
    C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\EventCache\{...}.bin
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2\edb.log
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2\tmp.edb

Well that changes according to your HD, hardware, drivers etc.
Unless you buy 1 pc that's excactly identical to the old one, you'll get different results.

Also, the errors that NOD reports are just fine. NOD can't scan them and the files can't get infected. Other AV's don't tell you anything about files they can't scan, so you should really consider this as a bonus... You can study the scanned files and compare them in a week from now, look for any changes etc. Up to you really :)
