    Hi Guys,

What's the story about Wilders? Where is its home, who's Paul Wilders? What's moderator? How do you become a moderator? How many computers does it take to operate Wilders? Do the other software vendors here, pay Wilders. How does the whole shebang work or operate?

    Thanks

The Wilders Security Forums were started several years ago by Paul W.
First moderators were Pete, Paul L. and me.
The purpose: a friendly forum where people could inform and help each other.

    Sorry, we respect eachother's privacy.
I tell only that Paul was active on several security forums for years and years, long before the Wilders board was started.

Someone who takes care that a board is running nice and friendly, etc. etc.

    You're invited by the board-staff.

    ;)

    No !

    Cheers, Jan.

Why or what makes Paul W or Paul L legendary? Does an administrator trump a moderator? How many administrators & moderators at wilders?

A mod is concerned with the smooth running of post's and threads and member interaction. An Admin has to over see all of the mods plus the actual running of the forum.

    Hi

So Paul why do you think that's a great reply? To me it seems vague, short & secretive. Each answer couldve been expanded upon, to share insight on how forums work. My intention is/was not to strike a nerve. Just curious! I could probably ask dozens of other questions; however, if one word answers, and the like are forthcoming, perhaps I should just abandon this line of thinking.

    Sincerely
    rico

    Hi Rico,

It isn't meant to be secretive, but rather a respect to their privacy. There isn't anyone here doing anything for the "limelight" (recognition), they just wish to contribute quietly, for the greater good. I think Jan gave a good summation of how it works, but in regards to personal background info, it's a privacy issue, which we'll respect and guard.

    Hi Dog,

I was an am not looking for personal information on anyone! A fair question was how many computers does it take to run wilders. The answer was an icon, seems secretive ( or none of my business) type remark. Where is wilders located, someone asked for just the country. The remark about legends made by someone, fair enough why is that person legend seems vague.

Dog - is legend IMHO, though hearing the same problems over & over he gives sage advice to the relentless flood of newbies. Also Dog's careful handling of posts keeps, all on focus. The occasional time posts get heated, Dog calms the situation & re-focuses the authors. Therefore Dog is a true legend, at least here at wilders. I don't know who you are, but I can give the reader a clue, to as why your a legend, without giving personal info.

When you make a claim or statement, you should be able to follow up. Note it seems a post is missing. I think the reply to why are they legends. ~ Was because of all the things they have done.~ Does not make the reader believe anyone is a legend. Who's Susan?

You owners, administrators, moderators, helpers, keep in mind that, many people do not have a clue, as to how a forum operates/works. Simple daily operations, you folks take for granted, many non-forum workers are clueless about. I think you, all have a neat story just waiting to be told! Kind-a-like an interview?

PS Keep up the good work Steve!

    Sincerely
    rico
