Is NOD also affected by this problem Kaspersky is having?

    the problem is with the kav engine itself, so i think its unlikely that nod32 would have a similar problem but lets wait for a official response from eset.

    Thanks for the bump flyrfan111 and thank you WSFuser for responding. The original article said the same researcher exposed a vulnerability earlier that was shared by several of the best known AV's, so I wondered if this might be another that might not be limited to just Kaspersky. :eek:

    The problem is with KAV.
    If this problem affected NOD32, we already knew that.
    And Eset team would fix it fastest they can, like KAV team is already fixing it, while I write my point of view.

    Yes I think it was the same guy that found some of type of compressed file scanning problem( I don't recall the exact particulars) in NOD and a few other AVs back in mid to late August.

    The guy hasn't supplied Kaspersky with exact info of what he did.

    As I see it there are three possible answers. Yes, No, or were looking into it.
