just for information, F-Prot v4 (with new heuristic) would have scored in the november test ~42% (4th place instead 8th place of v3).

V4 has less FP because the engine is able to crosscheck more things.

Would you like to comment more on this? I´ve readed something in your weblog about the Maximus bot
Also, this brand-new engine will be deployed in the Linux/Unix versions?
    Well done :thumb:

Hi,folks: Beta? still in the pilot run? not yet to be wrapped up and say it is ready for you(users). And charge $$ for using it, although there is 30 days trial. Don't you think this is a bit of pushing luck? Why not wait for its ultimate readiness and Bang w/ fanfair style of re grandopening? Rabbit-eye testing w/ $$$ strings attachment ,IMO, is not a good marketing tactics. Mind you, I had used F-Prot v.3 16f before.

Inspector, with all due respect, Perman addresses a very significant issue for F-Prot users. Will the UN-Beta be seen in our life? Also, will version 4 or version 6 run on two of my 98 SE machines, or must I use avast!, Avira, Solo or Abacre AV?

    Respectfully,
(The Late) Dave (F-PROT 3.16f USER!)

Congratulations Inspector Closeau and to the Frisk Team. I am sure a lot of us waited for the new version. Because we are so far away from each other, my beer tab on Monday is a new license from F-Prot. Please continue to do the great things!! Cheers :thumb: ;)

Inspector, because so many shall be downloading the new version of F-Prot, are the servers prepared for the traffic? Also, if the traffic is so great that we cannot download the new version, will we still be able to update our 3.16f?
