    Hi all,

I cannot make up my mind.

There are those 2 Uninstallers that I would like to add to my pc-collection,
but not sure which one is the most easiest to handle.

Now remember please, I am very technically inept and I would need something
where I don't have to guess what exactly to delete, that belongs to something I want to uninstall...and then happen to mess something up.

Also, my pc came with software that I don't want or need.
Would those help with it ??

    I hope you know what I mean....and thank's for any advice !! :)

    I use Total Uninstall Nat.

After installing a program using Total Uninstall, both the windows add/remove in the control panel and Total Unistall with have a record of the program

To uninstall a program, I use the add/remove in the control panel and then use Total Uninstall to remove any remnants.

I have no knowledge on Phantastic Uninstaller.

As far as the software that came on your computer goes, it should be in the add/remove of the control panel.

Oh, I forgot to mention that AOL was installed which I then deleted.
I thought I did...but still find some "traces" of it.

So I'm hoping with either one of those I can get rid of it.

The uninstallers probably won't help in a case like that. A registry cleaner would but, if the leftovers aren't causing any problems, it might be best to leave them.

As to Total Uninstall, if it asks you if you want to remove a .dll file, might be best just to leave them. Better to have too many .dlls than one windows looks for and can't find.

Hopefully, there will be many more ideas as to your question.

It's a good thing you "warning" me not to remove dll's. I would probably not anyways..as I know they can cause probs if you don't know for sure what you're doing. Thank's for pointing this out !

I do have RegCleaner, Ron.....and it tells you what is 'safe' - 'unsure' and
    'not safe' to delete.
You won't believe how many there are still in here that are "unsafe" to delete.

I feel like my puter is still too stuffed....:(

Most "name brand" computers come with lots of extra "stuff" that really isn't helpful. A lot of the programs have to be updated to be of any use and most of them want money to do it.
That is why having a computer built is the best option. You put on it what you want.

Nothing worse than a stuffed computer. :)

This is off topic for your question. Sorry.

    I agree, and it's a shame.

P.S. Don't worry about 'being off topic' ~ your post added extra 'flavor' ! ;)

    Hey Nat68

Total Uninstall would be a wise choice, no reason though why only one or the other as both wouldn’t conflict and Phantastic UnInstaller doesn’t do Installation and so nothing gets put elsewhere on the drive and in the registry to work Phantastic UnInstaller.

Easiest doesn’t necessarily come to mind as the question will it or not work on a global scale, and right now with the new release of Phantastic UnInstaller only the one Initiation file exists and that is for Look ‘n’ Stop to instruct in ensuring everything for Look ‘n’ Stop is truly gone.

No help file momentarily to aid in the creation of initiation files, once I do release one that should make me feel little better about the product.

Phantastic UnInstaller is limited in some ways for reasons such like I had mentioned, but it is excellent tool for what it does currently which is Uninstall and/or ensure complete removal of Look ‘n’ Stop product, when Total Uninstall and alike would fail to-do so and render and mess up the Network, and this doesn’t only apply to Look ‘n’ Stop but anything that uses drivers and fiddles in the Network areas.

    :)

Phant0m.....to you too....a big Thank you for the input ! :)

With all said from you guys, and the kind advice (rymes ;) ) ...
I will go with "Total Uninstall" and see how I get along with it.

I have a feeling it's also a bit easier to handle. I hope I'm right, lol.

    Thanks.

    You are certainly welcomed…

Not sure if I should be insulted by that or not :p but with two easy steps you done in a blink of an eye. Step #1 to bring down the drop-list and select a available initiation file and Step #2 click “Clean” button…

    P.U. ??

And you even told me that total U. would be a wise choice. *WINK*

I'm just trying to find something that is suuuuuuuper Easy. :doubt:

But I also know that my puter needs lots of cleaning done.....

Try RegSeeker 1.35 Beta, don't worry about the Beta, it has been that way since Adam was a boy ;) :D And everything it brings up is safe to delete, haven't had a problem yet, besides which it backs up before deletion...

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D

Well, then I have to congrat you on that one. By gosh....creating a program like this requires alot...i mean ALOT.
I believe I'm not the only one thinking that whoever already have been using yours, is with pure pleasure. :)

And to answer your question: I've been using my vaccuum cleaner so far. :p ;)

Ha! Blackspear, I've had my eyes on THAT one too.
Just that it needs unzipping, and I have no unzipper installed.
Can I just dl anyways and my WinXP 'takes care of it' so to say?
I know you can with some other progs.

There are loads of Zip programs out there, I use Winzip 6.0 (quite old), and from what I understand Winzip 7.0 is still free.

    Cheers :D

Oh yes, I'm familiar with Winzip. I used it last about 2 years ago.

I suppose there's no other way around and install that thing which is at times a bit confusing for me.

    Oh well. :D

    Thanks ! ;)

    Hi Nat,

XP has a built in ability to zip/unzip ... just DL it, and open it like you would any folder. ;)
