If I recall correctly just hit cancel and the outdated version will still run.

Good to know this is available. Usually I look for a latest version before proceeding with a disinfection process but if a new version warning would present itself - one certainly would fetch the latest. Thanks for this.

My father's PC was infected with Nationzoom, a nasty hijacker. I had to look for many tutorials on the web how to remove it. Finally I could make it thanks to ADwcleaner and some other steps. Malwarebytes (free) was not able to remove it.

I removed Nation Zoom with AdwCleaner on two PCs, but on this german language systems it didn't fix infected shortcuts. So I have to edit all browser shortcuts manually.

I removed Spyware on another computer, AdwCleaner seems to be the new Malwarebytes. :D

An on demand high false positive tool is not a replacement for a real time scanner.

Exactly! To be honest, it is a great tool but the false positives from it are too much for my liking.

It's like Emsisoft a few years ago, great detection but several false positives. :doubt:

Cleaned a couple of problem pcs with browser redirects and non-stop advertising, which every other anti-malware program I tried couldn't remove.

    Great program.

Try sending email to the developer: Xplode-ccm@hotmail.fr

    I too see a 4/49 from VT.

If Xplode responds, let us know here. Thank you. :)

I have found AdwCleaner to be an excellent tool for cleaning unwanted garbage from computers, and run it on customer's computers when they have unwanted toolbars and other garbage installed.

In the past, I would clean everything found. But as of late, I find it identifying things I want to keep. For example, it wants to delete the AppData\baidu folder, which in my case is used by Baidu's PC Faster, and also wants to delete Uniblue's DriverScanner. Just to give two examples.

ADWCleaner 3.019 produces some false positives on my system, like registry key from MSOffice 2013 Lync. But now Version 3.020 produces anything more :( Old Version 3.018 don't produce anything o_O

Gotta say I love this program. A very nice, small, light tool to get rid of most PUPs. Went to the neighbor's house yesterday. Their computer was all gummed up with things like Conduit, MySearchDial, and a couple others, as well as a bunch of DVD and media converter PUPs. It removed basically all of them, then a scan with MBAM removed stuff it didn't detect. Now their computer is running much better, though I know in a few months it will probably be the same, as one of them installs stuff without unchecking junk the programs he downloads tries to install.

AdwCleaner is a bit aggressive, sometimes it has several false positives. Take care! :doubt:

That program seems really useful, but are there any similar programs not in beta?
