Upgraded Install on Windows 8.1 x64 and working! Just to clarify, this program has never made any Start-menu shortcuts correct?

New in this version is a Start Menu entry. But this is only installed on new installs. Not when upgrading. If you want the shortcut, uninstall, reboot, install.

After upgrading to the new version and restarting, the flyout is now shown.

    Hi Erik,

The new version is working well with Norton 360 on my systems.

    Great Work!

    Thanks!

Edit : Will there be an auto update feature added when the final version is released?

Unfortunately version 2.5.6 BETA gives me a BSOD when opening a file with Microsoft Word.

    Bug Check String: RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED
    Bug Check Code: 0x000000e3
    Caused By Driver: Ntfs.sys

    Previous versions worked fine.
Running on Windows 7 x64 with Microsoft Word 2010 and MSE

In my windows 8.1 enterprise 64bit the beta version goes to BSOD with Resource_not_owned error, while I use Google Chrome. waiting for a fix.

I also saw my first BSOD since using Windows 8 or 8.1 just after I installed the latest beta yesterday. Was on 8.1 x64 Pro and saw BSOD with "NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM" when trying to open an Libreoffice spreadsheet. Now uninstalled and no problems since.

Can anyone who experienced the BSOD send me their minidump from c:\windows\minidump folder? Send it to erik(at]surfright.com.

Problem seems to be related to FAT file systems. Can anyone confirm this?

I also had odd BSOD when I opened simple image file from external USB flash drive (FAT32).
I'll see if I find the dumps.

BSOD also happens to me while trying to open a .mdb file, located on a partition (encrypted with TrueCrypt) + when trying to copy some FLAC files from that partition to another drive. All NTFS.

    edit: minidumps sent.

Tried 2.5.6 Build 61 BETA - and it screwed up about half my startup programs.....WinPatrol was having a real problem keeping up with the changes and so was I. Finally gave up and did System Restore back to version Beta 3b and all is well again.
