Almost two hours STRAIGHT of UPDATE NOW, "your version is up to date. No update necessary." space ............REPEAT.

Still no updates for me.

    anyone else not currento_O

Perhaps I will have to after many years of using ESETs NOD32 just put on a free AV like AVAST. I know it will update several times a day WITHOUT problem.

Using your browser , visit ESET's download web-page:
    www.eset.com/download

Check the Home user section and download v2.7 for Windows 98

Uninstall your current installation from Start -> Programs -> ESET -> Uninstall

    Reboot your computer .

Manually delete your ESET folder located in %Program files%

Perform reinstallation of the program using the file you downloaded earlier from the ESET web site.

    Reboot again .

    Attempt to update your NOD32

Apologies for a late reply. This worked for a short time.

Currently I am stuck on virus signature 4547 (Nov. 4/09) on a Win 98 machine.

I like NOD, but it would seem it it time to move on.

Pressing update now for the last two weeks has got me nothing.

    EDIT

after some work I have got it updated again.

    Hello,

NOD32 v2.70.39 downloads its updates from the same set of servers used by other versions of ESET's software, so I am unsure of why just your computer would have this problem. It could be there was a routing problem on the Internet between your computer and ESET's servers, which could explain the issue. Another possibility might be a failing network card, assuming the computer you are using is old.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
