Mamutu and Zemana AntiLogger seem to have a lot in common. I'm wondering in what ways they are different? Just trying to get a better idea of how to use them. I'm not asking which is better

Zemana AL is quite similiar to PC Tools SD IMO, while the behaviour-based Malware defense Mamutu is closer to PC Tools ThreatFire.

Doesn't Mamutu have the option of community based ratings?

Never used Zemana, so can't compare the two.

As its name implies, Zemana Antilogger has protection against key logging, screen logging, webcam logging, and clipboard logging. It also has a system defense module. As far as I know, it has never been tested for defense against 0 day malware.

    New version released today:

Zemana has a working anti screenshot grabbing/webcam protection - which is fairly unique ... I don't know too many products with this actually working 100%. I would be surprised if Mamutu can prevent screen capture, webcam grabbing, happily surprised too!

Both of them did detect my screen capture softwares (to be precise, WinSnap and Windows Clippings) as potential risks and asked for my decision (Mamutu even showed statistics of their "community"'s choices) but I don't know if they could actually detect screenshot grabbing w/o user's notice.

With the offer on at Gizmo's I might give Mamutu a whirl. Heard good stuff, but never tried it.

i already suggested to him and as well on his forum and i just got flamed saying that u cant test software like Zemana in the way Matt does his reviews lol... eventually ther or so "qualified" mods closed the threads saying basically that im just wrong to put it simple. so dont count on him reviewing it anytime soon...

Ahh well, you gave it a shot! :)

You'd think you (meaning, test sites) could collect say a bunch of keylogging/monitoring programs and test it out.

You tried the 15 day trial before?

    .
By the way Zemana AL recently updated itself to 1.9.2.122.

FYI, both Zemana AL and Mamutu run fine on Windows 7 RC1 x86. Windows 7 is not listed as supported in the System Requirements for either though. I can't say if they perform as well on the new OS.

I'm giving the Zemana trial a go (As I'm already keen on Mamutu). So far, the alerts are clear, and no system impact.

Anyone know if they plan to introduce a 'quarantine'?

Thanks for that. But with the alerts, how would you quarantine a process?

Is it only when say a severe rating threat appears that you get that option?

Any instances where zemana saved their bacon?

It's thrown up a few alerts, on a couple of portable programs I was testing, and the Norton UAC (which shows it's monitoring behaviour).

Also disallowed a portable media program (in developer build, a test build) which was said to be monitoring keystrokes, either for its short-cut keys or that it was 'unsigned - uncertified application', but still, not too bad so far. See pic.

Not personally. This is why I'd like to see 0 day testing.
