Jap or Tor, which one is better?

I want to know wich one of this is better to use, thanks for answers.

Better for what? This is a very "opened" question ...

As usual you'll received answers equivalent to this:

The best is X, because I'm using X.

This may start a huge troll with flames and ending at the Godwin Point...

It's the same things with question like:

What is the best anti-virus in the whole world?
What is the best firewall in the whole world?
or
Windows or MAC ?
KDE or Gnome?
or, the most traditional:
Vi or Emacs ? Hmmm ?

Seriously now: give a try to one of these anonymity program and come back with more accurates questions.

Is'nt a reasonable suggestion?

I would say that the best anonymizers are the ones that keep no records on their servers of you connecting to them. I don't use Jap or Tor, instead I use Total Net Shield which flushes their records every 48 hours.

Better anonymity is when the records are flushed every so often so do some research on Tor or Jap to see if that is what they do. It wouldn't take someone much effort at all to trace back to you if there were permanent records of you connecting to them so keep that in mind at all times when choosing an anonymizing program.

 

I've used TOR, but not JAP.
I skimmed the JAP wiki, and based upon that, I'll continue to use TOR.

1.- which one is faster.
2.- which one is better for anonymity.

In this moment I´m using JAP and is not so bad, not too slow, before I was using TOR and it was a little slow.

 

yeah, tor was slow, but it's cryptographically secure.

So that JAP is clean, no troyans, that's song for my ears because I have been using it and I like it, very fast here, what level of security is when it marks " fair and not hight anonymity"? thanks.

 

Tor routes traffic through 3 nodes (out of about 1,500 running currently) so it would require far more effort to trace - especially when the nodes are in different countries/juristictions. As for logging, bear in mind that while an anonymity/privacy service may be able to wipe its server logs, it cannot do anything about network logs its ISP may be required to keep (another benefit of using multiple nodes in multiple countries).

Finally, any commercial anonymizing service will require payment - if you've used "normal" means for this (e.g. credit card, Paypal) then this provides a link to you personally, which would not be present with a non-commercial service (where even if a trace was successful, your ISP would have to co-operate before your identity could be revealed).

 

What about JAP? Does it route traffic through 3 nodes too or how many?
