The advanced heurisitcs are most likely your problem. I seem to remember (in 2.7 I think) there was a message with it or warning when you enabled...

Deep Freeze is probably the most well defended program I have ever seen used... but, I don't know if ESS could be defended the same way...
Only happened to me once on 1a and it kept working fine without me doing anything about it *shrugs*

I can vouch that it does have to do with the u3 software and ESS as my SanDisk U3 drive without the U3 Software on it scans fine.

try deleting one of them and changet the one rule to both directions and see if that works....
did you have the firewall on automatic? Was there a rule allowing access to that flash app?
Works perfect here. Cuts out the secure downloads as well...

I'd like to requset a "time out" for the pop ups when the firewall is in automatic mode. Possibly a user deffined amount of time before it denys.
