I always have an image back up. ;) PC1 Mcafee VSE 8.0i - Bitdefender Free PC2 KAV 5 - Bitdefender Free
I would say NO advantage (imho) detection wise KAV is better.
Misread the post. Bit much to expect V8 for free ;) I use 7.2 free as a back up and it's fine.
It's on that page. Just click on the "Free Kit" link.
Sometime this year, with better detection for Spyware Ad Awae etc, according to a report I read (but can't remember where it was).
Looks like Symantec are right. This worm exploits the DCOM vunerability so surely the reg must be set to EnableDCOM=Y
KASPERSKY. Search the threads here and btw, welcome to the forum.
I don't think that question is open to debate. ITS OBVIOUS.
I thought it looked bad but that is REALLY BAD.
Hi jmschwartz By beter I mean nice and light it's as smooth as AVG or Avast (at least on my machine). I'm not saying that the detection is any...
Trialing this at work. Lighter than McAfee VS8.0i and comparative detection on tests I've run. This is a far better product than NAV 2005 and as...
This was added to jotti a while back and doesn't perform well at all. Also failed last VB xp test (not that that means much).
Jottis is probably the most reliable test of "IN THE WILD" viruses we have. Normans record there is woeful.
The virus information is impressive but it performs badly at Jotti.

I think the use of Spywareblaster with Firefox is still a good precaution and has no effect on your system. DRIVE IMAGE (my personal choice)...
This thread has plenty of links to compare AVs (detection). http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=65072
That's no reason for them not to detect it.
It's a kazza P2P worm - so for me it is in the wild. Thats a poor show from Avast. >:(
Well I think VC summed up that part well. The AV you need will depend on your surfing habits. If you are a risk user (P2P, Porn, dodgy software)...
There are a lot worse AVs than Norton (2005) out there. Norman, Clam & EZ to name a few.
