mine is disabled thru services.msc... it still scans fine, i think...
you obviously didn't try going to the services.msc... you can either put it in manual or disabled mode...

what version of mcafee did you tried? you must be confused between home and enterprise version of mcafee... the enterprise version of mcafee...
