Did you have ext HD 'hooked up' FIRST? Sometimes I forget to do it in that order myself.
It should be everyting used by you on HD-obviously it wouldn't backup unused space. Mine's about 5.7 G but compressed to about 4 G or so.
Something Similar to that happens to me every time but I just bring up the program a second time & then it works-try that. Good luck!:D
Exactly what I've been doing for almost 2 years! ;D
I'm not sure but I would back up everything FIRST but you should wait 'till someone else on here who8) knows tells you for sure. Good luck with it!!
More or less. Backup copies what you want to save on HD-Restore is when you restore it back to that time. Like taping a show & then you watch it...

"'Alt' & roll scroll wheel" My mistake-try 'Ctrl' & scroll wheel.
MY mistake -push 'Ctrl' & roll your scroll wheel if you have wireless mouse.:o
With a wireless mouse you could push 'Alt' & roll scroll wheel but would'nt be permanent of course
You probably have to get Version 11 or # 10 if you can find a copy of that somewhere.
If restoring you might have to click C: drive. Restoring from E: drive-confused me too when I first got it.
"On the restore, I was never given a chance to select where to restore; the disk was greyed out" A mistake I made when I first got it was...
"If it ain't broke , don't 'fix' it!!;D
"Why MS doesn't want to make it easy for the layman to understand stuff is beyond me" I couldn't agree more on that one!
Well, that's how I do it (as you said) ; didn't realize that it went to Linux though). To other poster : I have emergency bootup disk so I''d try...
The BEST thing you could do-a restore from an EHD is faster than from disks from what I'm told + you don't have to worry about scratching a EHD OR...
Yep , I do mine within Windows-just hook up your external FIRST & then bringup the program & run it. Good luck!;D
