About using only AVG, I think it would work if you did it right... Maybe BitDefender Free and F-Prot for DOS as backup scanners, plus a good...
I know that McAffee Home also has good detection rates, but it is bloated and piggish, and is probably the only ativirus that uses ActiveX (!)....
Frankly, I would consider NAV to be better than Avast at detecting viruses, though it is such an incredible resource hog that it is generally not...
Well, that's interesting, because AntiVir PE actually does alert you when you try to download the test file. :o (Somehow, I get the feeling...
NOD doesn't detect trojans too well, and I wouldn't trust detection of them based largely on heuristics. NOD32 for me as well, but with A...
Oh... I see... :P
I suppose that if I wanted really secure computer, I'd switch to FreeBSD or something, but I think I'm too much of a n00b to handle *nix at this...
About Kloshar's suggestion of McAffee: that's Enterprise, not Home Version... :P What I would say is that you should rely on regular scans...
Who the hell on this board surfs porn? I mean, that seems to me to be a very good way to get all sorts of nasty crap on your computer. P2P file...
Both come close to NOD's resource usage, BigC? F-Prot uses only 2 megs or RAM, NOD uses about 6 on my computer...

Wow... Mozilla's first Highly Critical alert, isn't this? Glad it's fixed in the most recent version...
Not another bloody critical vulnerability... I hope this patch actually works. :P
Sure, it might be a little paranoid. But remember that the only thing that can really protect you from malware is a healthy dose of paranoia. ;D
If a genius wastes his or her time making malware, he or she must be pretty damned stupid. :P Yep, it's possible to be a stupid genius.
I would most certainly not use AVG as my only AV. If I used it, I'd want a good free backup AV, like F-Prot for DOS, and maybe BitDefender Free.
AVG is probably good - if you're extremely paranoid. It doesn't update very frequently, which IMO is something of a problem...
Bull, just like the Longhorn project. ;D Alright, steer, but you get the point...
Horse, I think...
Wait a minute... Am I hearing this right? The Ghetto Hackers are a "security group"? Huh? :o
Ouch. Sorry about your injuries. :( Hope you recover well and quickly...
"Start learning Linux or Mac"? I wasn't aware that Mac took much learning. Then again, I used MacOS for a while...
Sorry, but Win98 is crappy enough that I am not willing to trust anything from MS. ;)
