Hi, Would someone be able to explain the differences between these 2 programs as far as what they protect and (if it's not against the rules)...
That's a combination (plus a router) that is working fantastic for me right now also. Couldn't be any lighter.:)
Not sure about your original question, but I noticed a slowdown on Firefox also with both programs running. I uninstalled threatfire thereafter.
I assume you're referring to beta 2. RC 2 is not out yet.
WinPatrol
Thanks. But this thread is for the AV. ;)
Internal updater says 56 is still latest build. Can I install this new one over the old one? I like to be able to keep my old settings?
Mine just auto updated to build 56
I have nothing against it per se. Just that as far as I know it's ie only. No big deal, though. :)
Looks like it uses Active X? Would have preferred java. I use firefox as my browser.:(
Looks like they added a day and a half.:'(
New version available 2.70.39 :)
Do I gather that you guys presently it's more important (on average) to have a real time anti-trojan (a squared, boclean) than real time...
Do you think there's any overlap there? I guess what I'm asking is: are you being extra cautious or are all necessary? I'm thinking of the same...
I don't believe there's much it can do in Firefox/Mozilla other than cookies. (no Active x allowed anyway)
If you don't use IE, there's really no use unless you need it for cookies.
If anyone does have a license key kicking around, I most definitely would use it. Thanks in advance. :) EDIT: Received...Many thanks to danny9.
Ditto. I keep trying software firewalls, but all they do is use resources. Between NOD32 and some smart decisions, that's all I need. :thumb:
Not sure if fixed. It was a temp file in the installer, I was informed. I just disabled AMON when installing.
Go to EMON->Setup->Notifications. Change both items there to "To Infected email only" I think???
Anyone else get a false positive (I hope) from NOD32 when trying to install this?
Sorry. I was referring to services only. I'm aware of the single process.
Run as service I notice that this firewall is not listed among services installed on my computer. I assume that's a bad thing? Does this mean...
Thanks. I wasn't sure if the HIPS programs didn't do all WinPatrol does and more.
Do any of you still use this? Does it do anything that the others don't? Thanks.
