Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro? This has crossed my mind too many times, and I think I've suggested it at least twice too. ;D
Of course, but seeing all those other browsers but not Opera still makes me uninterested. :P
Hehe... ThreatFire has been able to stop all rogues I've tested so far, simply because they're unknown to it and most often create a startup...
Will 1.4 include the Opera web-browser in its default configuration?
I got interested in AppGuard to maybe test it again, but they don't have Opera included by default and that really puts me off. :-\
It's from China or so... if you're gonna use Chinese security software that's translated to English, expect heavy grammatical mistakes. ;D :)
Added Windows Defender to my setup for HIPS-like functionality - my setup is lean and mean. ;D
Thanks Kees. I guess IE downloads protection is not needed thanks to IE8's excellent protection on its own, right?
Re: hitman pro Right, but Hitman Pro itself is indeed doing things on its end to keep these on a minimum. :)
Exactly, and I believe that if I use WD, it's not when I execute a file that HIPS jumps in, but the changes that occur afterwards more likely....
Say, Kees, if execution protection is disabled, and I run WD with advanced membership, is WD still able to protect me fully "HIPS"-wise while...
Maybe the real question would be is Windows Defender's HIPS capabilities reluctant. :thumb: :) I dunno this myself, but I'd gladly like to...
Hmm... I still got some memories of this one. Weak, but still there. ;D Has anyone tested it before and what type of program is it/what is it...
Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro? Actually, together they are the cloud engines + Hitman's own behavioral analyzis and other enhancements. ;)
Of course, since I always run it - did back when I started this topic too. ;D
This is a very good question... I don't see this in the Custom Rules, and it's a most needed feature indeed IMO.
Anyone know what features will be stripped in the free version? :doubt:
Don't recall if I got that or not, but for sure when browsing the web, it makes a big difference.
Toejam and Keys. ;D
Hehe... RAM usage never matters today unless something is wrong - CPU and Disk I/O does. ;D :)
Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro? Can you check which one is detecting it by clicking on the arrow to the far left of the item? This will show...
Does it run in the background like A2's Free version? Doesn't seem too useful to me if I can't clean straight away with it alone... :doubt: :ouch:
Just curious since I really like TF too... what does it miss when set to its default sensitivity of 3? :)
So, anyone tested this on different aspects? How strong are the out-of-box settings for example? Footprint? Pop-ups (from AV, D+ for example)?...
Now that comment made me laugh, big time. ;D
