    Certainly it may be unacceptable to detect every packer in sight as suspicious, but it is the authors' choice to detect packers or not. I know it...

    Norton Anti-Bot would be a good addition to NIS, if you feel you need extra protection. :P Otherwise, I think NIS is fine by it's self.

    VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware is now released

    I recently tried VIPRE, and I can say I had a positive trial with it. It ran like butter on my system (1 gig of memory, XP SP3) and produced no FPs.
