Very true. However, given Macrium's enthusiasm in addressing issues and deploy them rapidly (as opposed to Acronis' we'll fix it whenever we feel...
You're actually in the Macrium thread. ;)
In other words, end of this week. :D
It's "coming soon" according to their Facebook page. They're building the hype machine.
I'm intrigued. I like the grandfather-father-son (GFS) automation and the rapid delta restore.
It remains to be tested when, upon a restore, this will break RestoreIT's boot console and therefore render your system unbootable.
RestoreIT creates very large buffer files at the root of your C: drive. If you also use an imaging program to do differentials or incrementals,...
From their Facebook page: [ATTACH]
With compression being variable (in the settings) and some files being more compressible than others, I'd say it's impossible to get something...
Been using Macrium for over 2 years. Will not use anything else. Been burnt by Acronis too many times. Will never trust that one ever again.
Because imaging a drive also images the MBR. If you're expecting everyone to know this fine surgery then I say don't use RBX. It's a minefield.
Ya... Try to restore from a backup with RBX still in the MBR. See how it will trash your system after the recovery.
I backup to an external hard drive which is then mirrored regularly with another external hard drive.
Well, that guy is sure not helping HDS to come on here and be a sneaky evangelist.
Part of the download will be backed up. A restore to that point may cause Steam to re-download. Honestly though, a recovered system back to full...
Not so rare. Count me as another victim who once paid the heavy price. Never again.
There's this tool to help and it works. http://www.paragon-software.com/home/partition-alignment/index.html
Not wait until the Win 8.1 update comes out before figuring it out. The update had been available to developers for months prior. They would've...
Uhh no. The MBR is part of Windows. By that I mean that Microsoft uses well established rules to set up the boot code in the MBR. If fact,...
I do daily differential HOT imaging with Macrium. I had to restore from an image taken before I installed RBX. If I restore an image with the...
And that's not true. If you restore a hot image with RBX in the MBR, it will go crazy and destroy your system. I tested that twice.
I'm excited about v2 so I installed it. So far so good, but I have a question. It has probably been answered before, but this thread is an...
And try to restore an image that has Rollback installed and the MBR has been re-written. You think you're safe?
Well done, HDS. Way to be prepared for this and warn your users well in advance...
External hard drives are cheap. There's no reason not to do regular backups, but most are a bit overwhelmed by what is involved. I do a monthly...
