    Avira from the two, In addition --> MalwareBytes Anti-Malware with PrevX Edge would form perhaps an unbeatable signature detection.

    Ok, there aren't better antispywares with real time monitoring, but I think it's much more important to detect more without real time protection...

    I can say for sure that PrevX Edge has a much stronger protection. For your wife, Defensewall would be another goooood addition. :)
