Well, since your Recycle Bin is probably NOT on your external drive, this sounds like you could be trying to store the backup on the source drive....
In the past I have logged on as UserA and created a task using the name and password of UserB. UserB is never logged on and the task always ran OK.
Re: ATIv10 won't let me back up application settings IF an app is one that TI is familiar with and IF it was installed with the defaults TI...
Yes I did read what was said. You, however, misunderstood what I wrote. It was an example of how TI could and does write to the partition being...
"The logs are stored on the partition that will be backuped? No, that I cannot believe." Why not. While backing up from within Windows all...
Re: ATIv10 won't let me back up application settings Well, that might be a start, but … Apps tend to store stuff all over the place and while...
Re: ATIv10 won't let me back up application settings "but these seem generic" I think that they are. They're not YOUR applications; just some...
Did you run the FULL manually and has the scheduled DIFF run yet? There’s a quirk that issues that warning if no ‘scheduled’ backups have run yet.
I too use only FULLs when possible. The scheme I use on a different box (which I've posted before) is as follows: I have 9 scheduled tasks, all...
One scheme I use is to create a set of scheduled tasks using the following 3 backup file names; MonTue, WedThr & FriSat. A FULL gets created on...
Sorry, I'm still not clear on why you want to do a DIFF in the first place after already doing all those INCS. Run one more INC and you'll be able...
My point – Is it that particular file that is the problem or .wmv (etc.) in general and that file just happens to be the first one encountered....
Also, is it always the same file? If so, rename it with an odd extension like .xyz, then exclude that file type and see what happens.
Also, if all the backup files are stored in the same place running a DIFF on Sunday may be the same as running an INC. TI will see the FULL and...
I’m not sure what you hope to accomplish. Another INC on Sunday will only contain the changes since Saturday while a DIFF on Sunday will contain...
Look for "Backup Locations". I think that feature is one way to do what you want.
“I planned on creating from the bootable rescue media an archive on tape A, holding only bare system (Windows 2003 Server) with TI Echo Server so...
I guess it depends. When you select tape as the location of the backup image, what happens? Does it read through the whole tape looking for files,...
You need to be clearer. Where are these images "visible"? If you store the backups on the drive you're backing up, that backup will not be in the...
“ … and still be safe … “ You really have to define just what your needs are as far as backups go. What does “safe” mean to you? What do you...
Even when replacing a drive with an exact model/size drive, I always use images - never a clone.
By their very nature, DIFF backup images will get bigger each consecutive run.
Try View and select Common Tasks Bar. Then from Pick A Category, select Backup Locations.
"I've been sucessfully using TrueImage for manual whole-disk imaging for several years." Were these backups also going to the NAS?
I’d start by checking the priority setting for the task. If it’s set to High, other things will be very slow.
