Sorry to hear that CE (which version of Windows are you using)? It seems to be working well here on W7 x64. TS
clubhouse, I'll 'tackle' that question based on my experience with the 'Terabyte Trio' (IFW/IFD/IFL) and AX64. As you suggest, the AX64 is...
That's more or less correct for Rx's (locked) baseline snapshot, but all subsequent snapshots are stored in sectors that are 'unused' (by Windows)...
Great news Patrick!
Gary, I was actually thinking of backing up the Documents partition, not the System partition. To my way of thinking, those are (most likely)...
Patrick, Actually I use SD on-demand. I was suggesting a methodology that I've set-up for my kids (who are totally non-technical) and it just works!
Gary, Not wishing to go OT, I won't get into Sandboxie or Chrome. Depending on how and for what purpose your relatives would use the laptop, SD...
Dominic, it's really good to see you posting again on the SD forum - I remember you from the 'early (SD) days'. Btw, your photo gallery is...
IFW and Reliability are synonymous. Imho IFW and its siblings, IFL/IFD, are the very best of disk-image backup software! The thread you are...
Done (with due credit). ;) TS
Hey safeguy, That seems to me to be an important observation and worthwhile precaution. Imho, you should post that on the Official SD Forum. TS
Magni, welcome to Wilders Security Forums... More often than not, 'you get what you pay for'. Imho you should look into Shadow Defender, which...
Absolutely true. I believe Tony intended exclusions for data files/folders (and more recently for reg entries) but not for apps! TS
Per Tony, over-the-top works (supposedly preserving any personalized settings). As I don't have/use any exclusions and run SD pretty much 'out of...
;D ...you might even consider adding a Crucifix and/or Star-of-David to really be on the safe-side. ;D TS
Hi bellgamin, First of all I would say that the version you are using is very stable and has become a favorite of many SD users, especially those...
I second Jo Ann's recommendation. I've been using NIS for 4 years, from NIS2011 to the current NIS2014. Over that time it has provided effective...
co22, Are you allocating RAM for SD's write cache? If so, how much RAM are you allocating and how much do you have in total? TS
Understood ...but on a UEFI PC why can't you simply disable secure boot and then use IFD? ...and wouldn't you have to do that anyway to boot...
I'm not sure what that means, but imho Terabyte's reliability trumps all other disk-imaging features!
For restoring my IFW images my preference is IFD. I find that it boots much faster than IFL and is also much less confusing!
Just to avoid any exploded brain-matter around here I vote for CIS or WSA + SD. ;D Imho your other combo choices are overkill and an unnecessary...
Tony, the developer, is working on a new major feature - placing Track0 into Shadow Mode. Until then SD is still a fantastic program; so why not...
I willed you to forget... 8) Yes, pre-2010 versions of Norton were resource-hogs, but then they finally saw the 'light of day' and have made...
I see there are others here who are aware of notorious villains. :P
