After running PC Security Test 2006, it displayed a number of weaknesses. One of which was a simulation of infection with an unknown virus. Protection software running: NOD 32 v2.51.26, Process Guard v3.150, Worm Guard v4, TDS 3. Kerio Personal Firewall 4, Spyware Blaster, SysGuard v7.

How credible are these types of tests?

I am always suspicious if a 'free' test is trying to sell you something.
    :shifty:

It's a behavior-blocking test so it does not tell anything about NOD32's detection capabilities.

Thanks for the feedback. So I shouldn't be too concerned?

It,s funny. In one year the test remains the same.
2005 version i used it with so many different security appliances( running to hether) and could never got above 75 percent.
But it sounds interesting though not reliable at all.
With most applications i got 50 percent protection for Viruses and spywares.

I wonder if the some security apps actually recognise this as a test and dont react to it like a real threat?

That test is a real joke, you shouldn't take any stock in it at all.

I did run it once but I saw it's nothing than a little advertising tool for promoting a certain "security" program...

I think any sig based security product could be made to detect the "threats" this program invokes or even block the installation of the prog in the first place:-but is there any point, any prog that shows both Nod and Kav to be inadequate AV progs is just a joke!
