Just installed the Classic version, and had a problem and reran the installer over the top, successfully, after prior 'error' messages. I haven't a clue as to how this software works. I have a lot of reading, i.e. "Help".

I closed the 'sandbox', and I see that processes are running still. I guess that is how it is supposed to work.

    This was the problem:

*** KmdUtil failed. Installation or un-installation may not have complete (sic) successfully. ***

I disabled OSArmor and VoodooShield, temporarily, and then Sandboxie installed, successfully.

@DavidXanatos Congratulations on reaching Patreon Goal 1 :thumb:
Will the BreakoutProcess feature be available to all in the next build?

Possible problem with Sandboxie Plus 1.4.2 and a sometimes crashing Firefox 106.0 (just released but not available yet via internal updater).

    @DavidXanatos

As already indicated here by @Mattchu, the new Firefox version 106.0 does not work well with Sandboxie:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-plus-v1-3-4.447639/page-3#post-3109121

On my Windows 10 21H2 (x64) I get these error messages every time I watch a video:

    PID 2216: SBIE2336 Error in GUI server: [55 / C0000155]
    PID 2216: SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process WerFault.exe [88 / 0]
    (PID 2216 = SbieSvc.exe)

On a Windows 11 21H2 (x64) in a VM, I get the following error message:

    WerFault.exe (3064): SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001; MsgId: 14 - WerFault.exe [FF000000]

In addition, in my tests in the VM, Firefox crashed very often on YouTube or Bing! As @Mattchu had already written.

please check if setting about:config option security.sandbox.content.level to 4 solves the crash issue for you.

Changed the security.sandbox.content.level to 4, getting an instant Werfault-error but Firefox did not crash. Will test this longer tomorrowmorning.

forget the security.sandbox.content.level currently it seams to crash even with 0 set ...
It looks to me like we have here a combination of 2 errors, one caused by sandboxie here a certain worker process terminates prematurely causign the MSG: 14 error, so far so good, FF would work without it. But there seam to be a second issue as it seams a race condition in FF's IPC mechanism that can bring the main process down when a worker terminates very quickly. So one bug ours the other theirs... Will have to look into what exactly is failing in this worker process...
Anyhow in a compartment style box FF seams to still work fine...

Just for the sake of completeness, since you are already on the trail of the two errors:
Yes, the issues occurred for the first time with version 106.0. With version 105.x and all older versions these issues never occurred and everything worked flawlessly.

I hope that the issues can be fixed quickly, as Firefox is used by many people as their browser.

According to my experiments, Firefox crashes start with the following version. @DavidXanatos

    Crash:
    Code:

    No Crash (Previous version):

Updated to Firefox 106.0 just now and for good measure, restarted machine. No error messages or crashes on v. 1.4.2. Nice. :thumb:

Yup, naturally spoke too soon. Got these two but I dismissed them. Anyone else?

Thanks for info and confirming. Yes, I support your observation that Sandboxie (1.4.1 and 1.4.2, tried both) does not work well with Firefox v. 106, specifically as you already noted: with video (YouTube). Either the page buffers or Firefox abruptly closes. Hmm. For now, Sandboxie is disabled until something can be done.

Had a suspicion of sorts--installed my Insiders beta Windows 11 drive and getting a slightly different experience there. Here, the video plays but Sandman will display 2 errors every time I load another YouTube video. With other video content, like in Yahoo, Firefox abruptly closes and Mozilla shows a small box to submit the crash report.

    Sandboxie Plus 1.4.2 (64-bit)
    Windows 10 21H2 (64-bit)
    Firefox 106.0 (64-bit)

Every time I visit https://9to5mac.com/ I get different WerFault.exe errors:

    WerFault.exe (13240): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - WerFault.exe [DefaultBox]
    WerFault.exe (12652): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - WerFault.exe [DefaultBox]

    WerFault.exe (12612): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - WerFault.exe [DefaultBox]
    WerFault.exe (10732): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - WerFault.exe [DefaultBox]

If I visit the same web site, on the second time Firefox crashes and I get different crashreporter.exe errors:

    crashreporter.exe (1596): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - crashreporter.exe [DefaultBox]
    crashreporter.exe (9160): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - crashreporter.exe [DefaultBox]
    crashreporter.exe (7076): SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - crashreporter.exe [DefaultBox]

    Hope this info helps!

DjKilla, I am not experiencing the issue between Firefox and Sandboxie (because I am on an older version of SBIE Classic and I am still on Firefox 103.0.2), but one thing that I have been doing for many years to avoid getting the type of messages that you copy pasted in your post is to disable the 3 settings in FirefoxTools>Settings>Privacy & Security>Firefox Data Collection and Use. Unticking this options has also (IMO) considerably helped the compatibility between SBIE and Firefox. I don't know if disabling this settings will help solve this new issue but you could test and see.
