~ Funny Image Removed As per Policy ~ Macrium Support told me they are planning a mid may release, that was a couple weeks ago, and may be subject to last minute delays.
http://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v8/v8.0.5881/details8.0.5881.htm And the bug was fixed, and you say that the developers do not read the forums
If you look back, you will find that I never said the developers don't read the forums. There's no need to put words in my mouth. I have plenty of my own.
Uhhhhh... OK, I'll leave that one alone Developers always peruse useful Forums if they have meaningful information to provide. It was that perusal in 2015 here on Wilders that allowed the Macrium Developers to realize that their v6 Beta had jumped into the wild. The users here in the Forum, at that time, provided some very important input to the Beta testing team... not necessarily the way they intended to receive it. Following the very successful trouble free release of v6, a Canadian colleague here on the Forum convinced Macrium to offer FREE Server licenses to the select few who were involved with the most useful product feedback during that "unofishul" public testing period. They didn't plan it that way but it turned out to be very useful. v7 wasn't as trouble free as v6 was during its release and, I believe, the main reason was due to in-house Beta testing only... no Public Beta (to my knowledge). The wrinkles were eventually dealt with and the product settled down very nicely. I believe they rethought the v8 release a bit and at least set up a controlled Public Beta which I personally believe has been very helpful to the Macrium Developers during this Beta test period. It appears to have extended the Macrium v8 release date a bit but I'm reasonably sure it has provided for a much more reliable product than in-house testing only would have done. There's always that "forest through the trees" issue that tends to blind people at times. IMHO only...
I emailed Macrium Sales last night and they emailed back early morning that Macrium Reflect v8 would be released today but it hasn't been released yet. I'm in the Eastern time zone.
The official release date is taken from the Official Microsoft Dictionary of approved answers: "Real soon now".
I guess that this link will start to work once they release it (now it redirects to v.6)? http://updates.macrium.com/Reflect/v8/latest_release_notes.asp

Yep, I'm not even going to try to upgrade until a license can be purchased. I did install it in a test VM, but since a lot of features are reserved for the paid version I don't know how valid it is to look at it yet.
I just renewed my licence last month under the impression I would get the v8 upgrade as I essentially paid to extend my support contract another year. As v8 is now listed as the 17MAY update, I should have received a key yesterday or been able to update from v7 to v8 from within v7. They should at least have updated my account page on their site to add a v8 key.
Major releases of Reflect become end-of-life for support and updates a year after the next major release. So unless Macrium changes their policy, V7 should be supported, including with updates, until this time next year. Although that doesn't rule out goodwill updates. For example, Windows 10 1903 broke V6, and rather than Macrium telling customers that it was Microsoft's fault and that Reflect customers would either need to upgrade Reflect or refrain from upgrading Windows if they wanted to keep using Reflect, they instead released an update for V6 even though it was more than a year past its end-of-life date by that point.
If I remember correctly when I upgraded from v6 to v7 , you will have to "convert" v7 license to v8 on special website.
