    Windows 7P64.
I used to be able to use programs like Doro PDF Writer & PDF Creator (freeware) & print a PDF from any document. Now I can't. Somehow these programs no longer install printer drivers so as to be an "installed" Printer & be able to be selected.

I was reminded of this when I just went to print a txt file as a PDF & only my Epson & a fax were installed as printers. I can't get any write to PDF program to install their PDF printer.

Maybe new versions are not compatible with Windows 7 any more? Did you try using older versions?

Yes. Problem is I can't get any program I've tried to install a virtual printer. Any Print to PDF program used to do just that. I Googled & I am not alone by any means in W7, 8 or 10.

Well I found a work around, Google Docs. I uploaded the txt. Then reformatted a bit (the spacings were off). Then downloaded as a PDF. Now Bob's my uncle. I mean the PDF turned out PERFECTLY. Paint me amazed.

If any of your windows has issues, you might consider a general overall failure of your own. Maybe missing certificates, maybe manually deleted by fault. NEVER delete outdated certificates!

I think this is a common problem.

i use priprinter and have no issues on any windows (i did not upgrade windows 7 that far because i dont use it any longer). printing a txt file retains format. i really have doubt that it should be a common issue, source for that passage? i dont read any similar in our windows forum nor any bigger windows forum here in germany.
