    @appster, @Minimalist, @Jo Ann,

In Reflect v6.2's Edit Defaults > Schedule the user's credentials are specified with the following notation: "The user must be a member of the Administrators group".

As I understand the user that created task is a member of Administrators group. Problem arises when non-administrator is logged in at time when task starts. Though I don't have this problem on my setup.

EDIT: maybe secondary logon service is disabled on those system? It's worth to check it out.

I just successfully upgraded to Win 10 AU (version 1607) after many past attempts. Previously Win 10 would not restart or shut down after an upgrade from version 1511.

However, I noticed that the Macrium boot menu now displayed Windows 8.1 as the Windows boot option (the original OS on this machine) instead of Windows 10.

I renamed Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 using EasyBCD.

But now I don't have the Mcrium GUI boot menu anymore, but a black and white non-graphic Windows boot menu.

I have seen this before on another machine and it righted itself at some point in time.

I would like to bring the blue Macrium GUI boot menu back, though it's not a train smash, as the Windows boot menu does work the same. Any suggestions?

I have tried removing and adding the boot menu but it did not make a difference.

Edit: Alternatively I could restore an image to get the Macrium boot menu back (with Windows 8.1). Is there another way to rename this without using EasyBCD?

Oops, you are correct. I misunderstood the issue (too late at night when I read those posts and responded)!

I've had nothing but write errors with this 1607 PE, but when I switched to a Windows 7 PE today the forensic clone finished without any errors...

Unfortunately my 1 year of support has already expired.

How can I revert to the Windows 10 RTM (instead of Anniversary Update) PE?

Thanks Alex. I remember that discussion but couldn't find it.
I did successfully edit 'Windows 8.1' to 'Windows 10' using EasyBCD. Incidentally this only happened now with the upgrade to AU 1607, it was 'Windows 10' when I upgraded from Win 8.1 to v1511.
I am now just missing the blue graphical MR boot menu screen, instead I have a text white on black Windows boot menu screen.
No matter, all seems to be working OK otherwise.
As I mentioned, I had seen this 'text' menu before also when upgrading my secondary laptop, but the GUI MR menu is back. Can't remember what rectified it, maybe a MR update ...

I was playing with some spare hardware - Dell T610 running Windows Server 2008 R2 and tested an image. I had created the rescue environment for a usb stick but when I tried to apply the image I was only given the options in the Bios for "normal", Sata Optical Drive, Hard Drive C and Embedded Nic 1 MBA. What would I need to do to boot up using the stick or does the stick not work on this hardware or for servers? The image was applied without problem using the recovery CD.

now that i am retired (i was a 24/7 support specialist on a rather large ISP's server farm), i do not have access to a mix of servers to try stuff on or that model, if you do not have a bios option or hardware to override the boot sequence and use a USB device, you'll be stuck with using an optical disk. if you have the pro version, you might be able to use the boot menu recovery option if the HD is intact & you are just reverting to an earlier image...

you may have a bios option hidden in there somewhere to enable legacy support for the usbs or only initialises them from the OS that you can play with. also matters if the usb stick is recognised by the bios as a hard disk, some aren't. depends somewhat on the size. acronis refused to recognise anything over 8gb when i tried it recently just for the heck of it. macrium is using my 64gb usb as a recovery drive and boots fine from it, i have the most recent pro version.

    Wayne,
thanks - the usb stick does show up in explorer or disk manager when I normally boot up or via the recovery mode via CD or boot menu option. Just wanted to cover all options. When trying to access the bios for booting I only have the 4 options as described above and I am not experienced enough to find any other way to find another bios option. I guess with the boot menu recovery option from Macrium I am ok as long as this part still works and otherwise I can use the cd.

    TheRollbackFrog,

I am trying Macrium Reflect Home for the first time. Its trial version (latest version)
    Win 10 64 Pro
    Defrag disabled
    System Restore disabled
    Fast shut down disabled
Macrium folder in Program Files & Macrium service excluded in security software

I have installed it & created Windows Backup i.e top menu - backup - "backup windows"
    I have C & D partition, C system & D data partition.
Backup is saved in D partition in a folder named "System Backup"
C is 47GB/100GB full. It took 36 mins to complete windows backup.
Options during backup, I selected "Incremental Forever" & edited to "Everyday".
After windows backup completed, I ran backup again from main GUI - Scheduled Backups - rightlick the entry "Incremental" & run now. It took 2 mins & few secs.
I again ran backup & it took 1 min & few secs (I like incremental backup speed)
Haven't tried restore yet. By default Macrium does "Rapid Delta Restore", right? Any info, how much time it will take here?

How to add Macrium to boot menu?
If system is shut down during Macrium taking backup, does Macrium handles it properly or could damage Macrium/backups, etc?
Can Macrium GUI, boot menu restore, backups, etc... be password protected?
    Any probs with Windows Updates/Upgrades?

    Any suggestions/recommendation, etc...?

YK, yes, Rapid Data Restore is the DEFAULT with Reflect. A restoration to a fairly recent snapshot will be very quick.

Adding a BOOT menu may be found in the LEftHand pane under "Other tasks."

Reflect recovers very well from incomplete imaging operations.

The images themselves may be protected with passwords (Defaults/Backup/Passwords) and/or additionally encrypted.

I've never had issues with Windows updates/upgrades. As a W10 user, you need to make sure your System is at Upgrade level 1607 (Anniversary Update) prior to beginning any real Reflect experimentation. May users have had issues with in-place scheduled Reflect operations when the W10 Anniversary Update was applied... try to avoid that transition with a LIVE Reflect installation.

When I tried to add boot menu, the wizard had options, none & couple PE with "not built" mentioned.

When reflect recovers from incomplete imaging operations, on next schedule it does full backup or continue with incremental?

I have 1607 with latest updates.
What do you mean by "LIVE Reflect installation"?

You choose the PE version you'd like to use (PE10 has the richest DRIVER set available in the image) and Reflect will build it for you. The next time you need a Recovery Media (UFD, CD/DVD or BOOT menu), the built version will be available.
It, most likely, will start a new incremental.
If you've already been using an installed Reflect before the AU, there could be problems. Sounds like you're just where you need to be to begin this journey...

So to add boot menu, in the wizard, I should select PE10 (not built) & continue, right?

By the way, during reflect download, I had selected default download i.e reflect installer & PE.

And does reflect uninstall removes boot entry?

I'm assuming no, but I need to double-check anyway; are there any issues with backing up a SSD partition to a HDD and then restoring back from the HDD to SSD?

why not just use a usb 3.0 stick , they are cheap and work great. saved my behind 3 time now.

Because my backup is bigger than 64 GBs and I don't want to invest in a bigger USB than that, really. Already have 4 external HDDs. Just wondering if there will be a compatibility issue once restoring.

Topo,,, as far as that My Passport is concerned, just make sure you separate your System images (different Systems) into different created folders... you should be just fine.

If you'd like lots of resident drvers available... yes.

I'm not sure... but it's so easy to remove it prior to an unINSTALL, I always do it this way....

Use the "Other tasks" option and select "Add a BOOT menu" (same as when you added the BOOT menu option) then the "No menu" option... it will all be uninstalled.

Macrium Reflect paid version support is top notch! I had a problem they tried to fix over a remote program! I forgot the name of the program just that it is really expensive the one they use. Sadly they couldn't fix the issue yet but hopefully one of the developers can! I have to wait until Tuesday, which is ok.
