Hey mood: Thanks, you reminded me of my own post--lol! I reset my machine in the interim and forgot, so this was enabled again without my knowledge. Fast Startup for me seemed a little TOO fast, sometimes skipping over the visual motherboard POST and causing a momentary black screen. This would then be logged as a LiveKernelEvent in RelMon. Not good.
Yes, to see BIOS messages or to get into the BIOS, you always have to do a restart, if Fast Boot is enabled.

Was anyone else afflicted with the inordinately LONG "Getting Windows Ready. Don't turn off your computer" message upon reboot from installation? It took longer for this message to go away than it did for download and install combined, it was to where I looked at my machine and asked it, "Did you bork?" Cumulative kb3206632, Adobe and Malicious Software Removal Tool, oh yeah, and a Windows Defender kb. Went fine though.
Yeah, it happened to my machine, too. I eventually did the unthinkable and turned off my computer. When it rebooted, I got the message that KB3206632 failed to update my system. I ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter from Control Panel to completely reset Windows Update, rebooted, then tried again. This time, it installed successfully.
It happened to me too on 2 machines, although it wasn't too long to get anxious about it. I would never turn off a computer whilst updating on a reboot. If the worst comes to the worst, Windows will revert back automatically to its previous state.

Just restored my 10 image and updated and no problems, everything went fine. Same as pegas mentioned above....
Finally managed to upgrade my primary laptop to AU. After (many) previous attempts (including via iso), all after clean boot, computer would not restart or shutdown. I suspected it was a driver issue but could not find the culprit. But I did not do anything in that regard now, so some recent Windows update must have fixed it. I still have to disable the Windows Search service (SearchIndexer.exe) on this machine, else it freezes after a few minutes. A recurring problem on this laptop since upgrading from Windows 8.1.

I plugged in my USB shortly before 9.00am, in preparation for a scheduled task, i.e. Macrium Reflect. However, I got these for the first time. P.S. My scheduled incremental in Macrium Reflect did not run. I guess it got wiped when I got the update to this Anniversary Edition, a few hours ago.

I got that 'voice thing business', but I haven't responded, but I have the option of ''maybe later". So, I will be delving more into this Cortana business. It does seem to intrusive.
