    @Emre TINAZTEPE When your app breaks out of the beta phase--> will you submit and engage your new anti-malware program to the "competitive" tests offered by av-comparatives, mrg effitas, etc., as nauseam..? The results sure would be enlightening, not to mention the only legit A vs. B we can rely here without violating TOS. It's great to see just how quickly and efficiently this app is working out the glitches in its infancy stages. Although I do hold in reserve some of Window_Security's observations/opinions expressed with this application and Hitman Pro. The dethroning of said program could always happen yesterday but remains to be seen. I look forward to any and all reliable and reputable testing that the future holds and wish you the best.

    I am running the latest beta. When I close the software from the taskbar (kill the notification icon, that is) and restart the program, I get the error message every time: You already have installed version. Would you like to run it? clicking Yes starts the program normally. Pretty harmless issue but I figured I would report it here anyway.

    New beta versions should be named 2.6.1.
    This way it's confusing users....

    Yes there is a beta and final release version.

    The value in the position that anon highlighted indicates which.
    0=Alpha
    1=Beta
    2=Final Release

    Unfortunately, they have combined the final and beta in the same release notes which makes it confusing. Adding the word beta after the version number would be helpful, e.g., Zemana Anti-Malware 2.5.1.329 BETA or separating the release notes would ease the confusion.

    Re-install worked fine at first, but now randomly closes. Going to have to try the beta.

    Chrome says the latest installer is malicious... IE 11 to the rescue!

    So what?
    The release of beta 2.5.1.xxx versions not stopped as soon as the stable 2.5.2.xxx released.
    The beta versions will continue. ;)

    As Charyb said, the problem is:

    I think he just meant that beta versions of programs typically have a number higher than the release version, so there's a clear sense that the beta is out in front of the stable release.

    Hi,

    I'm just wondering, what are the zam-shadow-copy-record.mbr; zam-shadow-copy-record0.vbr; zam-shadow-copy-record1.vbr; zam-shadow-copy-record2.vbr and zam-shadow-copy-record3.vbr in my temp folder? What purpose do they fill?

    Can you please send me a screenshot of the issue?
    Archive scanning is on our to-do list and will be available soon. ZAM, however, must scan the folders recursively; if it does not, other issues could arise. Can you please try to scan a folder with the latest version? Let me know if you still experience any difficulty.
    The issues related to the context menu have been fixed in the latest version. Can please check and let me know if you are still experiencing the same problems?
    Thank you so much for your help!
    You probably checked "Settings > Advanced > Show All Browser Extensions" option. Can you please uncheck it and scan again?

    BW: In the latest version, we made it difficult to select this option and have added more information about it. We apologize for the inconvenience.
    This bug has been fixed in the latest version.

    This bug has been fixed in the latest version.

    We did the following tests on the files we have received (More than 10M):
    If the (X1 & Xn) engines are enabled, can the engines (K1 & Kn) detect something the first group missed so we come up with the following answer:
    If the virus is not detected by our selected group but is detected by the removed group, then we're 99% sure that this is a false positive.

    It looks like this may be caused by firewall software on your computer. If you like, we can connect to your PC via TeamViewer and inspect the issue in detail.

    When these files are scanned, they were all reported as zero days, and none of our cloud AVs reported any infection. We have also cached these scan results. Next week, we'll implement a new logic in our backend to continuously scan unknown files every hour for the next two days until we can get at least one detection from our cloud AV engines.

    Thanks for letting us know!

    You are most welcome! Thanks for letting us know!

    Yes, this has been implemented in the latest beta version.

    Of course not. We know how risky it is to test a beta stage software -- it can crash your system and you can lose hours, if not days, to repair your computer so your help and feedback are priceless.

    This is right because we do not want to limit beta testers from using stable releases. But from now on if we give away free lifetime licenses then our distributors and resellers will not be happy. ;)

    You are right. Therefore, we made it difficult to select this option, added more information about it, and also put a big warning. We apologize for the inconvenience. But this is a useful feature if our cloud AVs does not detect an annoying toolbar. With this option enabled, these toolbars can be reviewed and removed by experts.

    Can you please let me know if reinstalling ZAM fixed your issue?

    Thank you for clarifying this matter to us. We have fixed it on our website.

    Unfortunately, we need to keep these files in app data for the purpose of license activation, quarantine, among others. These are small data files which do not doing anything; however, starting with version 2.2.1.105, you can use the "/remove_portable" command line parameters to remove these remnants.

    If the driver does not get deleted after the restart, then there is an issue. I'll check it out.

    Definitely.

    We cannot reproduce the problem; however, we can connect to your PC via TeamViewer and inspect the issue in detail if you want us to investigate the issue further.

    We are aware of the issue and we have contacted Chrome developers. At this point, they have not responded. Somehow they do not like our download links hosted on MaxCDN. If we cannot resolve the issue with them then we will change our download links.

    Can you please try the following link and let me know if you are still getting a warning from Chrome?
    http://cdn9.zemana.com/AntiMalware/ZAMv2.5.1.329.Setup.exe

    You are right, this is confusing. We'll try to resolve it in the next version.

    We cannot reproduce it, If you like, we can connect to your PC via TeamViewer and inspect the issue in detail.

    These are temporary copies of the boot records.

    I was trying different versions of Windows systems over the weekend...7 to 8 then 8.1 back to 8 then back to Win 7....But my key now tells me I overused it...Any chance I could have it re-activated....I can send you the number and my email via pm if you wish....If you can't I understand...I'll buy it eventually anyway.
