    @Krond

Have you talked to ESET about this?

I've run speed tests morning, noon, and night at differing levels of congestion and am still getting full throughput 150/150 with ESS and WSA installed. No issues at all.I use youtube heavily and haven't hit any issues there yet.I use ESS at default settings other than having exceptions set up for WSA and Adguard.

As for the problem with streaming videos, would it be possible to create a demonstration video and report the issue in our official forum http://forum.eset.com while enclosing a link to the video?

For possible resolution of the speed issues, please refer to our KB article http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2654 and install the appropriate hotfixes from Microsoft if you already haven't done so.

These test results are more along the lines of what I see while running ESET.

Here my results with/without ESS installed. This result is equal if I install NOD32. So I think, that the webfilter is the actuator from this.

Tested with new Installation of ESS on a PC, where ESS v7 was installed before. And tested on a PC with an OS, where no AV was installed before (AppGuard/Sandboxie is running there). Tested on this PC ESS and NOD32, same result.

I am currently using eset smart security 8 and do not have any problems with it. I have done a speed test with eset disabled and enabled and get the same speed result.as a test I have started three hd videos on youtube at the sametime and no lagg what so ever. I have been using eset for over two years now and other than the update notifications and the occasional block of a infected advert I do not even notice it is there.

The same here. With ESET enabled or disabled my Internet speed or PC performance were not impacted ether.

To all of those who are having issues with ESET security products. I am %99 sure it's third party software is interfering with ESET. Especially OEM PCs full of bundle-ware or unwanted software.

Drives could be buggy as well.

You guys that have problem with streaming videos, can you test with several browser to see if it happens in all of them.

Maybe also worth mention what browser add-ons you use, if any. And also try streaming without any add-ons loaded in the browsers.

    That's another good suggestion.

my drives are fine and yes its every browser. including streaming to bluray (lg, samsung and panny so not one brand. also streaming to a wd live and a medi8tor box) sorry to sound rude but its like eset can do no harm. i agree its an awesome av but for me is slowing stuff down. ill get some logs as soon as i can i just will not have time till this weekend sometime. to just note i have 26+ years doing this, former ibm, former robotics tech, etc trust me when i say i have tried everything to fix the issue. and im not the only one who has this issue. if it wasnt for the streaming / stuttering and low upload speeds eset might be the only av i used period.

If I disable the webfilter in ESS or NOD (in both versions the problem exists), then the drop of speed is gone. Enabling the webfilter causes the drop again. This is equal on Win7 and Win8.1, several hardware, regardless of which connection to router - wireless or wired. No other AV´s installed on these machines, but v7 of ESET before. The software installations are very different on these machines, I tested. The only equality of software on them, are MS-Office, Firefox, Chrome, ShadowDefender. No OEM Software is installed.

Yeah I know and I understand, and I know you have a lot of experience (much more than me), I just want this weird problem sorted for you guys that's all. ;) But no, it's not like ESET can do no harm because I have had issues myself and I have reported all of them to ESET and have got them fixed. If I wouldn't have done that I would probably still have the issues. Wich is why I generally think people should be prepared to work with the vendor to get an issue fixed, if the vendor can't reproduce it in-house. Not just with ESET of course. I contacted Webroot when I used it, and a few logs and one dump later it was sorted, that's how it works.

That is great I really hope your logs will help a bit to get this sorted :thumb:

Both you and maximus has this stuttering problem, on one hand you say it happens in all browser, while maximus now says it only happens in firefox and other fox variants....so where do we go from here?

"What I noticed, is that this streaming videos issue didn't happen on IE 11, only on Firefox and its variants"

Does disabling protocol filtering in the advanced setup make a difference? Have you tried applying the TCPAckFrequency fix as per the instructions at http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2654 to no avail?

@Marcos Yes, disabling the webfilter eliminate the drop of speed. I will try the fix as soon as I at home at my machine and report back! Thanks.

[Edit]@Marcos this can´t be the Problem, because the TcpAckFrequency is everywhere already set to "1".

Ok, so we've ruled out one of the possibilities. Please contact me via our forum http://forum.eset.com; we'll need two sets of pcap logs to compare what was received by web protection with what was relayed further and when.

As for my settings. I have Anti-Theft, Gamer Mode and Parental Control disabled. So maybe it's the reason why i am not experiencing any issues.
