Few years ago Ad-Aware and Spybot were very popular. Now they are history. Ad-Aware become a security suite but I think very few people use it. What chances that both malwarebytes and superantispyware will survive?. Will they convert to be a full security suite or become history in two or three years?

Nothing lasts forever. I just hope there will be similar software in the future.

I won't believe any answer to this question for the time being. Possibily (certainly?) things will change change in the future because development is an ongoing proces. It depends on so many circumstances, internally or externally.

I'd like to see MBAM and SAS into a Merger,
    but...wishful thinking...

Malwarebytes remains a powerful scanner which is capable of locating malware but SAS doesn't seem to be getting used as often as it used to.

I use SAS mainly for anti hijacking. Nice lil feature it has.

MBAM I would even accept a small yearly fee to keep it going even though I have 2 Lifetime licenses! But if they are happy for now that is OK too but I had to say BUT! And SAS only the future will tell!

They will be there as long as there is malware or something else comes alongside that's bigger better and cheaper or that's not acquired. SAS is great for fixing stuff after you cleaned a malware. Mbam those reg entries.

I'm a firm believer that all lifetime, should be changed to 3-5 years license.
Unless the developers has other income, specially from corporate customer

I have 2 lifetime licenses for each of them but neither one of them has found anything, ever. Not that they aren't capable, I guess I have just been fortunate enough to not need them. If I had to pay regular fees to use either I would dump them on that basis.

You have to start downloading some stuff off torrents and bearshare. That should send some alerts up. ;)

Possible, but right now Malwarebytes is one of the most useful anti-malware programs for most infections other than rootkits/bootkits.

SAS seems more useful to me than it used to be, and unlike MBAM it'll find rootkits some of the time.

Hopefully MBAM sticks around a bit longer, bought 3 licences afterall...

Oh Jack- I see that you have a UPS notification in your email. I strongly suggest you doubleclick the attachment as it may be important!!!

Perhaps they could change their scanner for more serious malware and change it's name to SuperAntiMalware....because the way that I look at the program is that it is basically a top-of-the-line spyware scanner and spyware mostly involves tracking.

But I think that in addition to spyware, people are more concerned about malware and trojans and other types of sophisticated malware.

SRP would stop it dead in its tracks, even if he's that dumb.
