I kind of gathered that. Unfortunate for you. I have Windows 11, now, but I really wanted to stay with Windows 10.

Luckily, I still have Windows 10 Pro on another laptop.

Why didn't you stop it before upgrade happened?

Simple, it would have continued to fail with errors for KB5031356.

The quoted portion above refers to Controlled Folder Access.

Well, I didn't like Windows 11 [too fiddly], so rollbacked to Windows 10, successfully, and subsequently fixed my problem, mentioned in my initial post above, in this topic.

Good. Now prevent the infamous feature upgrade which turns your Windows 10 to 11 :D

The only problem is that the SSD is only 128 GB and system memory makes for very slow computer.:(

I'm not able to make a reinstallation of Windows 11: I created a bootable USB with Rufus and the 11 ISO, but when I boot it from the BIOS and I run the installation program from the USB, it says " drivers not found " and ask to me to set the drivers: which drivers ?? Rufus should have them and run them automatically. I tried also using WINToGo, but the result was the same.

ps: obviously I already tried DISM, SFC/Scannow, Reset WU Tool..... Media Creation Tool,... all them don't work. This pc is an All in ONe, so I have not an original installation support.

Did you low level format the drive?
If you did and you didn't high-level formatted (NTFS) the drive using a partitioning software, Windows is not able to detect a disk.
For that to be fixed, first you need to initialize the disk using diskpart or a partitioning software. Then boot Windows setup from your USB drive.

I have three partition. Could I initialize only the partition C, to reinstall Windows, or I risk to don't be able to boot ?

No. Forget the disk initialization. Thought you were doing a clean install. I see you are doing a in-place upgrade, ie, the old Windows installation is still there in the disk/partition C: , right?
In this case, the disk is already initialized.

multiboot for beginners is high risk. in special when there exist no backup. further multiboot need some settings after it has been performed, otherwise user will get in more trouble or have data loss.

@Brummelchen , having three partitions does not imply in any way a multiboot system.
Most likely they are data and ot imaging/backup partitions.

Thank you Brummelchen, I had a multiboot system in the past, when I had both Windows and Linux, and I agree with you, to have a multiboot is always high risk, but now in this pc I have a System partition, C, and two data partitions.

I anyway want to do a reinstallation, but I have to say that may be I solved the problem of this thread: yesterday I tried to delete a rule that I created in WFC for outgoing connections; it was a restricted rule that permitted connections only on TCP only for the ports 53,80,443. I delete it and Windows Update seems working normally. But I don't understand, I used this rule for many years on Seven and WU working normally.
